I am having my sleep apnea gone and what a wonderful group of drs and secretary. All knowledgeable and kind. The rooms are beautiful where you sleep. The best place to cure sleep apnea. I love this place.
My father has been a victim to elder abuse from Sleep Disorders Center of Connecticut. I do not recommend any senior citizen or anyone that you love, to go here for care. They do not know how to treat the elderly or to talk with people who have questions and concerns. They are only worried about pushing in office inhouse overnight stays and unnecessary inhouse mask fitment naps that are expensive, because this is how they can maximize charges to your insurance company. The office staff members are rude and the doctor was uninformative of health conditions. Melissa the office Manager was the worst I have ever seen in a patient environment. She called my father names and does not have the disposition to deal with human beings. Believe that? Calling a Senior Citizen names, because he questioned why his sleep study results were not reviewed with him, but only products and services were being pushed on him with no explanations to why they were needed, as no sleep results were explained. The doctor only said, “you’re in bad shape and you will die if don’t do anything!” No test results or sleep graphs were showed to my dad. The doctor that was seen was more worried about political conversation, as he gave my father a nasty glare to his Christian necklace. He did not review the sleep results from the sleep study with my father. Most doctors will turn the laptop to the patient and discuss treatments, questions and concerns. This was not the case, as my father returned home nervously shaking from not knowing what just happen with his health. I have never seen my dad so distressed from a doctor’s appointment. I called Melissa the Office Manager in regards to why my dad did not get his results reviewed in the doctor’s appointment, and that I wanted a printout given to my dad on his fitting appointment arrival. The Mask Fitment appointment came and the fitment attendant only allowed my dad to try on one mask that was filling my dad’s mouth and lungs with water. My dad mentioned that he couldn’t breathe with it and asked to try a different mask on, the attendant said no, and that the mask he tried was the best one that they had and then he dismissed my father. I called Melissa the Office Manager a 2nd time in regards to why my dad is being treated so horribly and why he is coming home to me twice feeling sick and nervous. She was very confrontational for a simply request the 1st time. I called with my concern the 2nd time she was even more confrontational and called my dad who feels sick from their office a liar. She hung up on us, and we made a complaint to our insurance provider. I am praying and wishing that this abuse doesn’t happen to anyone else, especially to a senior citizen.
Very frustrated...I did my sleep study from home, so I took the portable device, which needed to be returned. I was told to return it on Wednesday (today) before 5pm. I arrived at 3:40 and the door was locked. I rang the bell. No answer. I knocked, no answer. I called and got a message that said I could leave a message or call the answering service. I waited to leave a message and got disconnected several times. I called the answering service. They were unable to reach anyone. Getting to Norwalk is not convenient. I guess someone will be picking up the device from me at my convenience. I will not be making another trip there. Nor will I return. Edit: I just received the reply below. A few thoughts: things happen and I can appreciate that. However, I left a message with the answering service. Two days later, I never heard back and had to call. I reached the receptionist to explain what happened. Though I expressed my frustration, I was offered no explanation or acknowledgment of the inconvenience. I was simply told I could just come back at times that really didn’t work. Finally I was informed of a drop box at the Greenwich office which was the least inconvenient option. Though I was told I could drop it off as late as yesterday when my results appointment was today, I got a call today that the appointment needed to be rescheduled because there wasn’t enough time to adequately review. Because the lady who rescheduled was ABSOLUTELY LOVELY I will change from 1 star to 3, but it would just be nice to receive some sort of acknowledgment other than trying to save face on a poor review. If I were heartless, I’d leave it at a 1.
I was “kicked out” of the practice…after TWO sleep studies, one of their doctors programmed my ASV incorrectly taking my events from 1 to 30 an hour. They wanted me to go for a THIRD study but I asked to speak to the doctor who erred before having the THIRD study. When I didn’t receive a return call, I cancelled my study. First I was told by Melissa, their front desk person, that I would have to pay $100 for the missed appointment, then I was told that they would not allow me back to their practice. Best thing that could have happened to me as a central sleep apnea patient. I say good riddance. I have since found a new Doctor who treats me with respect and compassion. Very helpful and professional staff as well. Don’t settle for less. It’s a whole new world.
It’s a shame because the doctor is a nice dude. 2 times I’ve been here. Melissa (I think) is crazy. The first time I came I needed deductible information and she gave me a terrible attitude- literally rotten facial expressions and all. Today I came for an appointment and she was literally screaming at someone over the telephone. Like 4 people heard her through the waiting room. She doesn’t control her attitude and emotions and is very unprofessional. She makes me uncomfortable to even come to the office. All the other staff are so nice.
