I got to the lab at 7:30 AM and the line was nearly out the door. It took until 10:10 to get called!!! There is not enough help and a computer system - That’s what we were told. Seems like the new EMR would have had the bugs worked out before going live! It is difficult to stand for such a long time! And then Dr Razia sent patients down who got to go before us who had been waiting for over 2 hours! Hire more help. Fix bugs! I’ve always loved SDMG but now I’m rethinking my providers.
Having an eye appointment take two hours, then when you politely say something to the Doctor. His answer wasn't, I apologize for the long wait, his response was. I can gladly recommend a different doctors office. He wasn't very nice, rude revolving door of a clinic. They suck and so does there staff, yes I will be taking my family somewhere different.
Called the operator to inquire about a Primary Care physician. It took a good 8 minutes of waiting until I reached the operator. I explained the reason for my call and immediately transferred me without saying anything and I was disconnected. Usually, it is polite to tell a person they are being transferred and the number given to the.
I waited over an hour for bloodwork in the lab. There were at least 6 people who checked in after me and were called before me. I finally went to the desk again. They asked me if I had registered! I was called in immediately. I think I'd still be sitting there if I hadn't asked. It doesn't help any that the lab is understaffed. There were over 2 dozen people waiting for lab work, but only one receptionist and three lab technicians.working. Your system is dysfunctional; fix it.
My wife and I visited SDMG over the weekend for some x-rays, and we had a great experience from start to finish. The check-in process at the front desk was smooth, and the wait time was minimal. On the weekend (and possibly all the time), they have a central location for checking in for urgent care, radiology, and other services. For a Sunday, the place wasn’t too busy, which made for a pleasant experience. After moving to the radiology waiting area, we were greeted by Erica, the radiology technician. She was cheerful and personable, immediately making us feel at ease. We waited about 10-15 minutes, which was understandable as an urgent care patient needed a scan and took priority (rightfully so). When it was our turn, Erica called us back together. Her hospitality and positive attitude truly made our visit enjoyable. She thoroughly explained everything she was doing as she went along, and we shared several laughs during the process. It’s refreshing to encounter someone like Erica, and we really appreciated her making our visit so pleasant.
