Returning a call during business hours and put on hold for 30 min only to be put through to a machine. I call back and it’s been 40 min now as I continue to wait to speak with anyone. Is this really the best patient care you can offer parents wanting to schedule their children?
My 4-year-old son was treated at Connecticut Children’s and we received exceptional care. The attending physician, Dr. Rahul Shah, took the time to personally listen to my concerns and completed his care personally. I’m SO GRATEFUL. The nurses, Jenna B. and Karlie M., were also incredibly kind, patient, and gentle with my son. They explained everything clearly and made him feel safe the entire time. A special thanks to Dr. Luke Sullivan, the resident, for being thorough & willing to involve the attending the minute it was requested. Most doctors are too prideful. I was not physically there with my son but my father who brought him who is the head of an HR dept of over 1000 employees for 20 yrs believes this was the most exceptional professionalism and pediatric care he has seen. From our family to the hospital, a big thank you. For context we live In Spfld, MA and I will continue to bring my children here for ED needs over baystate children’s.
I wouldn’t bring my dog here, Unfortunately, I brought my daughter here. She went in there for G.I. issues, They sent her for x-rays and her intestines were all backed up with bowels, They told us to go to CVS and get MiraLAX off the counter and that was it. That was back in June. Five months later, she had an appointment earlier this month in November, They did bloodwork and realize that her white blood cells, Were elevated meanings. She’s fighting an affection of some kind, and hopefully not sepsis. My question is after they found out in June that she was full of vowels. Why did they then sent her for blood work?!!!! I’m disgusted with that hospital. GO ELSEWHERE! Shame on them! They’re lucky if I don’t go to a lawyer.
CT Children’s Hospital is by far the best in the state and I would argue it’s one of, if not the best children’s hospitals in the US. Within 2 minutes of walking in recently, my son was getting assessed for his condition and assigned to a room promptly. Every ER patient gets their own room(no curtains where you are practically rubbing arms with the next patient like other hospitals). Same with my prior visits with two of my other kids, today’s experience exceeded expectations; there’s no better hospital/Dr Office/ Urgent care than can handle a real medical emergency for children than this place. Most of all, you get above and beyond expert care, and every of the 7-8 staff personnel we saw were caring, kind, friendly, and genuinely invested in the best care of our kid. Going to the ER for something your kids is dealing with is never fun, but this hospital does their best to provide the best care and give the patient as much of a pleasant experience as possible, given their circumstances.
My 12 year old needed care and earlier this week we went to Johnson memorial hospital… he had the same terrible nurse that I had when I was there so he was really nervous to go to the ER today. Luckily Hayley was so compassionate, caring, attentive, and just all around a great nurse. I was to nominate her for the daisy award tomorrow when I have the time to figure out how. There are several nurses and doctors for that matter that are CLEARLY there for a paycheck and she was fantastic. I told her how great she was. My son needed a procedure and they gave him versed that didn’t do anything but (he wanted privacy and I respected that) she very quickly grabbed me after to come back in the room. I heard him scream and I wish he had wanted me there but I expect him to respect me and I respect him. And she 100% respected him by grabbing a male and he’s like can I have another female please. And she didn’t hesitate or try to talk him out of it. I could go on and on about our experience, and honestly I wish I knew our APRN’s name. She went above and beyond to test him for everything under the sun. Overall very happy
