Holyoke Medical Center Neurology and sleep

My husband has seen Dr. Kareem for 20 years. He diagnosed his MS when we had gone to 4 other doctors. Always pleasant with us. We trust him.

My first impression of him was not good at all! Not professional, not welcoming, basically treats you like just another number $$. Throws random diagnosis without reviewing any diagnostic testing. Definitely not returning. Not safe putting my life in his hands.

If I could give a 0 I would. There are truly no words for how horrible this doctor is. He is incredibly rude, dismissive, and disrespectful. He ordered the wrong MRI, the actual wrong part of my body, and is insisting that I pay for it because I can’t always get what I want in life. He called me into his office to tell me that he doesn’t know what my MRI results mean (the MRI he ordered) and that he can’t help me. Before I even had the chance to say anything he got up, put his hand out and guided me out of his office without allowing me to speak. He is the worst doctor I have ever met in my whole entire life. I will be fighting to not pay for the MRI.

We would have given a zero but we are not able to do so. Dr. Kareem Muhammed Z lacks compassion and care. He is dismissive, insulting and rude. My husband had a terrible experience with Dr. Kareem Muhammed Z in the ER and during his hospital stay. Dr. Kareem Muhanned Z walked away when asked any questions including asking about results from blood tests, MRI and CT scans. My husband had an EEG on the day of discharge. Multiple calls were made to have Dr. Kareem Muhammed Z read the EEG and upload the report onto the portal. It took many days and the report was minimal. Dr. Kareem Muhammed did not have the courtesy to inform my husband of the results nor did he follow up on how he was doing after discharge. Clearly, Dr. Kareem Muhammed Z couldn't care less. We would never recommend this neurologist.

VERY rude, shows no care, no compassion. Tells his patients he is drained and tired. Speaks with aggression and aggravation. Made me break into tears once I started asking questions. Sits with his back turned to his patients. When I asked him to please send me somewhere good if he doesn't want to he asked his secretary to sit in the appointment. I cried harder and asked him why he asked her in here as if I'm a danger to him, seeing I am crying, nervous and afraid of him and his attitude towards me. He REALLY needs to just retire. I do not suggest him to anyone.
