I needed some stitches on my face and went to BI Milton. The staff was great; welcoming and really caring. They were busy as it was a Friday night but they never rushed my care. Really appreciate the care and the staff.

I visited the emergency room at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital–Milton late at night on September 26 and early morning on September 27 while traveling in Boston. I had a severe case of gastroenteritis and was feeling awful, so I went to the nearest ER. To my surprise, I was seen very quickly—there was almost no waiting time. The nurses and staff were kind and efficient. One nurse in particular, whose name I believe is Dave, took excellent care of me. He helped with all the tests, gave me a blanket and a bed to rest, and was incredibly gentle and patient the whole time. I am truly grateful for the care I received here. It made a very difficult night much easier. Thank you to Dave and the whole team at the ER!

DO. NOT. GO. HERE. (If I could give it ZERO stars, I would) I showed up to see my fiancée twitching in pain in a stretcher in the hallway of the ER. She was there for 6 HOURS. The doctors were incredibly cold and condescending and passive aggressive. The nurses flirting with the weird security guard right beside us. Incessantly laughing and flirting while people are laying around untreated. It felt so surreal. They ignored what she said constantly, they told me NOTHING, and dismissed her. It was genuinely scary. Like THIS is the place you come to for emergencies and they just do NOTHING. Her symptoms are worsening, she’s delirious and in pain, they don’t care. I just got her discharged and I’m driving her to St Elisabeth’s in Brighton where she can get genuine help. This is easily the worst Emergency Room I’ve ever been to. I can’t believe all this time was wasted. I genuinely worry for any person who has a life threatening injury and needs to go here.

I am writing about my experience in the radiology department which happened on August 21 and my appt was scheduled for 11:30am. Prior to making an appointment I expressed my desire to start with just the ultrasound of my breast and some surrounding lymph nodes. I was told that they don’t do that but she checked with the supervisor who said ok. If I knew I had no choice about the mammogram in order to have an ultrasound I would have had to reschedule because I had no one to help me watch my daughter. So I bring my daughter with me and I’m told right as I’m supposed to be seen that I can’t have the ultrasound…treated like I must be a liar by the tech who was very smug. I asked to speak to the doctor who again acted like it was absolutely impossible. I called to file a complaint and was told there was pretty much no one available to complain to. I’m a nurse, I know I should be able to have the ultrasound…especially when that’s what was agreed upon when I scheduled this. A complete waste of my time and now a delay in my care. I’m left to wonder what could be going on with multiple lumps in my breast and surrounding lymph nodes. I can’t be seen until October at another hospital. If someone was clear to me initially I’d have just gotten both. Today I was not going to just leave my daughter in a room by herself while I do an unplanned mammogram. We could have gotten half of the diagnostic testing done at least today….but no. You can tell people get very desensitized …a person turns into just another number on the schedule.

I took my mom to the ER and we received such amazing and compassionate care. Everyone who interacted with us was patient and kind. The doctors and nurses were very thorough and took our concerns seriously. My mom was seen, recieved the recommended testing and discharged in less than 2 hours. We are so grateful to I have such a terrific hospital in our neighborhood!
