Rather spartan in patient amenities. If you want something to drink, bring it. The beds look fine, but they need to be inclined by motor.for those of us who can’t sleep on a flat bed. Otherwise, it’s OK.
This was one of the only places that could get in quick enough for an at home and in lab sleep study. I almost rated them lower but often times you have to look at the situation and they were very helpful in making sure things were done in a timely manner. The in lab study was great. Lisa is a GOD on the air/oxygen in helping people get to sleep. I have been having sleep issues over the last couple of months and that night I have never slept better. After the study they say it can take two weeks but it took around a week and and a day to get my results to my doctors. The front desk ladies were awesome and have been very helpful in getting things resolved in a quick manner. Most of us who are having sleep issues are having to run through hoops and back. This place didn't do that. They kept things easy and professional.
I have sleep apnea and a CPAP machine. Dr. Tatineny has worked with me over a one-year period to improve my CPAP use to the point where I am now using it regularly and effectively, and it has transformed my sleep and my quality of life for the better. In our appointments, Dr. Tatineny has been knowledgeable, courteous, accessible, and personable. I wholeheartedly recommend her sleep medicine services at the Sleep Disorders Institute.
TL;DR: Dr. Tatineny is an exceptionally compassionate and proactive sleep specialist who truly listens, fights for her patients, and goes above and beyond to find real solutions. Great experience! Very helpful and friendly office staff, an open and communicative doctor, and skilled techs. The sleeping rooms are well supplied, including fans, available water/snacks, and indirect lighting. Update October 2025: I’m updating this review a few years later because I’ve continued to see Dr. Tatineny for three years and wanted to share a more detailed perspective so future patients know what to expect. Dr. Tatineny is one of the most understanding, empathetic, and kind physicians I’ve ever had the pleasure to know. She always makes me feel listened to, prioritized, and genuinely cared for. When I first came to her, I was in my mid-30s and sleeping 10–12 hours a day. Every other doctor I saw brushed it off with comments like, “Well, people need different amounts of sleep,” or, “Have you tried exercising more?” But Dr. Tatineny really listened when I told her how frustrated I was—how I felt like I was missing out on my own life because I was sleeping so much. She focused on finding solutions and improving my quality of life, not on minimizing my concerns. She even went so far as to personally write a detailed letter to a pharmaceutical company to help me qualify for a patient assistance program, which saved me over $1,000 a month on medication. That level of dedication and advocacy is rare, and I’m deeply grateful for it.
Dr. Tatineny has good intentions but doesn’t listen. I have a condition which raises the excitatory neurotransmitter glutamate and causes brain inflammation. I experience a lot of insomnia because of this. Instead of recognizing that a biological problem needs a biological solution, she wanted me to do therapy and said if it were up to her I wouldn’t be on any sleep medication. She was unwilling to learn about my condition or its effects on the brain. She had a lot of immutable preconceived ideas and kept telling me to do things that don't make sense for someone who has my condition. She just didn't seem to understand that I'm not a standard patient and the things that work for standard patients aren't going to work for me. She refused to believe a medication she prescribed for daytime sleepiness was causing a side effect even though it is well documented online. She said if I reacted poorly to that medication then the other option wouldn’t work for me which makes zero sense because they have completely different mechanisms of action. She is all over the place. She would suggest things that don’t make sense given the situation. Appointments would be more productive if she stopped to gather her thoughts. I have more complaints but I don’t want this to get too long.
