Rating: -10 For an accredited medical facility, this emergency room is completely disorganized. Staff appear to lack even basic professionalism and skills when serving patients in distress. Intake staff were laughing at patients, and ER nurses repeatedly called for patients who had already been seen or discharged. The environment felt more comical than clinical. We waited over four hours and still counting just to be seen for a head injury, with no sense of urgency shown toward patient care. At one point, staff openly told patients there were no doctors available. Based on this experience, my best advice is to seek care elsewhere. At time of post we are at 5 hrs and counting

Highly recommend this location. I had a specific test done within the radiology dept and everyone was absolutely amazing! I was very unsure prior to coming to the hospital but everyone put my mind at ease with each step I felt very comfortable. I will be sure to tell others to come to this location! Thank you so very much!

This was the worst experience I've ever had at a hospital. I was asked the same questions over and over again, made to wait for over 4 hours in the lobby of the ER Dept. When I was finally seen, I was weak and super dehydrated. They did an MRI at 2 am, took so much blood that my veins collapsed. I was admitted. The daytime RN's were sweet, but the nighttime nurses were brutal and treated me like I was a five year old. I am awaiting results of a biopsy, called four times (since I demanded to be released to go home) and got transferred to three different places and got hung up on with the last transfer without an answer. While I was there they were in a hurry to slice'n dice me up with three different proceedures, without having any real results back; I just said no, I was very uncomfortable, no one knows what the other department is doing, I was seen by 3 different doctors, all of whom knew nothing of what the other dr did, and I set something up with my own PCP. Save yourself the time and worry and just go to Rusk. I would never consent to surgery without a second opinion, or without knowing what my other options are.

My child had their first ever surgery recently. We were first assisted by Gina working in the front. She was so helpful, kind and reassuring keeping my child calm. When we checked in up stairs and a wonderful administrator made her feel even calmer about her procedure. The team of providers, nurses, techs and everyone else, were absolutely amazing! We, as the parents were well informed, there’s a monitors to track progress and many folks to help answer questions anytime. This was one of the best experiences I’ve had in a hospital setting. It’s a real testament to the amazing healthcare professionals who work there in a daily basis. Thank you to everyone, especially Gina, for the warm smile and true concern for our child’s anxiety. Y’all are truly world class! Thank you for the amazing care you provided my child.

If I could give 0 stars I absolutely would. I would say that 75% of the staff here (techs, nurses, doctors, receptionists, etc.) act like they have a bad attitude. They treat their patients like inmates and their family like garbage. If you disagree with a doctor’s decision/care for your loved one, forget about it. My family and I were laughed at and talked over by Dr. Gomez, who completely disregarded how we felt about our loved one’s situation and ultimately gave them unnecessary/improper care as a result. The visiting hours at this facility are ridiculous. They were extremely rude when one of my family members was switching with another, saying “there can only be 2 in here at a time, one of you needs to get out!” At one point they said no outside food/drinks can be brought into the patient’s room, and one of the techs stopped and told me and another person to take our waters out. After complying she then proceeds to bring her own energy drink AND soda into the room. When we wanted to get information on getting a lawyer and patient rights, they couldn’t give us an answer and never helped in that regard. We know people who have worked at this hospital as nurses and can attest to the terrible working conditions and mistreatment of patients and their families. DO NOT BRING YOUR LOVED ONES HERE! Take them to Rust where they will be treated like human beings instead of prison inmates.
