I was sent there on a Saturday because of a wonky blood test. I ended up staying for a little over two weeks. Every single person that I dealt with was wonderful. I had a kidney biopsy that was totally painless. I can't recommend any other hospital with such amazing care and truly committed staff.

If your loved one dies at this hospital, you only need to say two words- autopsy/toxicology. They will not tell you WHY your loved one “just crashed”. Get the medical record and read all of it- 1156 pages, and you will find that doctors and fake doctors (i.e. nurse practitioners, RNs, physicians assistants) ALL neglected their oath to do no harm. Certain drugs used for pain relief contain black box warnings prohibiting use in patients of a certain age or underlying health conditions. These black box warnings are mandated by the FDA to prevent adverse events, or worse, death. What good are black box warnings when fake doctors like a nurse practitioner/RN, doesn’t bother to read them and consider the patient’s health conditions? For example, Dilaudid is a very powerful synthetic opioid. Seven times more powerful than morphine, and three times more powerful than fentanyl. The black box warning states it is contraindicated for use in the elderly, people with respiratory diseases- like COPD, and people with stomach ailments of unknown etiology. Use of Dilaudid in these patients may result in death. Yes, death - after 40 minutes of CPR, only to be intubated and classified with a “non-survivable” outcome. The result is multi-organ failure. The result is a family left confused, distraught, and compelled to make that one last decision. To all of you doctors and fake doctors at Wentworth Douglass Hospital- you know what you did. Even worse, is the fact that you lied! Just crashed? Really? “Immediately after administering Dilaudid patient became unresponsive…Narcan administered twice- patient unresponsive…”. To anyone reading this, ask yourself why this hospital would perform CPR for approximately 40 minutes on an elderly patient - after they gave said patient a drug known to cause respiratory distress? It clearly states this in a black box warning. Because they know what they did, they had to bring the patient back- if only long enough so the patient could suffer for several more hours. Not one doctor, nurse, fake doctor, or anyone explained that they gave the patient a drug that essentially killed the patient, the patient was given Narcan twice, and after they finally brought the patient back, it was only so the family could suffer with the ultimate decision to remove what they called “comfort measures”. The final shot of morphine that was administered before the patient’s pulse completely faded is the kicker. To all of you leaving anything more than a 1 star review, I’m glad your experience was bringing in a life, or physical therapy. If you have an elderly loved one, however, please know that when visiting hours are over, these fake doctors on the night shift can do whatever they want. And they did, without any oversight from a MD. Happy Holidays to all the fake doctors and the MD who was supposed to be supervising them. God will be your judge.

I had my baby at this hospital a few days ago and the team was helpful. I wish I could remember all the nurses/doctors/midwives names (I do recall Rachael, Emma, and Jada) but they were all fantastic. My delivery did not go how I expected for my 3rd baby and things were complicated but they walked me through everything and were so helpful and I felt safe the entire time.

I agree with others on the bad reviews. It's so very easy to complain about something and much more difficult to compliment it because of you just forget. I have had nothing but excellent experiences with this Hospital. It didn't matter the department that I worked with. Whether it was labs, Imaging, doctors, the scheduling department on the phone ECT I'll have met an exceeded any expectation I had. As others have mentioned coming from another state where healthcare was around every corner I had no idea what coming to the New Hampshire Maine area would bring. The people here are compassionate and caring. I find them to be much more caring than their counterparts in Massachusetts. I would not hesitate to come here for any type of healthcare need. Everyone has just been kind and courteous and something I'm not used to seeing. It is so very refreshing that I had to take the time to write a positive review about all of my experiences.

Anytime I’ve brought my toddler/baby here, they are always attentive and fast as possible baring in mind they are likely short staffed. Always compassionate and conclusive. An emergency c section was my biggest fear during my pregnancy, and unfortunately that is what had to happen during my daughters delivery but they made it as quick as possible and it’s thanks to them my daughter made it safe and healthy. The healing process and scarring was easy and minimal too, for such a major surgery. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.
