The Maine Sleep Center at Chest Medicine Associates

I've had a persistent cough for the past four months that has interrupted my life. I can't work, I can't exercise, I can't have conversations, I can't even sit up for half an hour without ending in hacking up my lungs. I've seen multiple doctors and even gone to the ER, I've gotten X-rays, CT Scans, tested for pneumonia, pertusis, tuberculosis, they made sure my lungs are clear, my throat is clear, there's no scarring, etc etc etc. The next step for me was to see a specialist, and so I spent a month trying to get an appointment, only to have the original date set for three months out. After fighting tooth and nail, we moved it up to the end of October. Now that I have had the appointment, turns out the specialist, a Pulmonologist, had only half of my information available and he hadn't even looked at that, he disregarded most of what I had to say about what the other physicians had found, and ultimately decided that the best course of action is to waste my time and prescribe me more antibiotics, like none of the other physicians prescribed me antibiotics. He lacked information, didn't bother trying to acquire that information even after he was made aware existed, and came to a conclusion and decision based on this incomplete picture. Now I have another two months before I have a follow up appointment.

This place yet again proves why it is one of the worst places for care in southern portland. No communication with their patients, rude out the gate over the phone, and always seem to have a chip on their shoulder. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU HAVE A CHOICE IT IS NOT A GOOD PLACE FOR ANY CARE

So happy with my experience here! Dr. Bado is amazing. My appointment with him was super comprehensive, he is a great listener. The woman at checkout was friendly. I had the in-lab sleep study last night conducted by a technician called Blake. He was kind and attentive and fun to talk with! He communicated exactly what was going on at all times and was very respectful. The facility was clean and comfortable. I'm grateful for these awesome providers. Thanks again. :)

Terrible place to get anything done. Referral was sent to them in March and I was told they’d call me for scheduling. It’s now September and I hadn’t gotten a single call. I’ve spent all week trying and trying to get a hold of them, once I finally did they told me they haven’t received anything from my PC. In other words, they lost my referral. I’ve had multiple faxes sent over from my PC this past week and now I can’t get a hold of anyone. This place sucks!

Went there for a sleep study. they sent me home with a kit after simply asking me the same questions I already answered online. $200. They didnt explain the results and ordered a machine with consulting me first. $290 upfront then $50 monthly. Apparently the medical staff doesnt care about consent. The facility is grotesquely understaffed so you'll never get an answer about anything. Basically you're treated like a cashcow.
