I had a sleep study in Rapid City at the monument sleep center. Staff was really good, but I feel like their procedures are still somewhat barbaric. I feel like there has to be some sort of new technology that they're not using, because this process is quite uncomfortable. I have no idea how someone is supposed to sleep normally. The room and beds also need upgrading. If I had to do another one I would shop around and ask about new procedures and technology.

Was greeted warmly, escorted to the room. I choose to do the home test. Met with the Technician, she was friendly, explained the equipment. Had me put it on to get it ready for when I do the test at home. I was able to take the test and enjoy sleeping in my own bed. I was a bit concerned about being hooked up with all the items, that it will make me feel uncomfortable, but I fell right asleep. I took it over a holiday weekend. Will return the equipment back on Monday. Very good experience for me.
I had a sleep study done when i was 18 and just had one at 24 after my concerns of my narcolepsy getting worse. I’ll start off by saying the staff was very nice and very knowledgeable. Unfortunately I didn’t even get to take the MSLT due to sleep issues found in the over night study. I felt almost heartbroken that yet another one of my health issues was overlooked and felt like they only cared about sleep apnea. The room was very difficult to fall asleep in. Almost felt like just a dr’s office room/ hotel 6 room that was 50°. Had to ask for extra blankets and for them to turn the heat up.
The best appointment I have ever had! Audra at the front desk was outstanding and the person that came in to the room was also amazing and caring. If I was nervous going in there's no way I had those nerves during my appointment. Top notch care here. :)
