I moved to Vernal 6 months ago. I've had to be seen at the ER about a dozen times; most of them at Ashley. I may have had 2 positive visits. I have several chronic autoimmune diseases, one of which causes serious inflammation and excruciating pain. For the last ten years I haven't had a single "normal" blood test, but somehow, miraculously, all my blood work is perfect now that I live in Vernal. I've received appropriate pain management for only one visit. When I broke my foot I went back three times and no one could see the break. Dr. Rockhill finally saw it and diagnosed it. Now when I go in I'm treated like a total inconvenience. I rarely get a call button so I can't ask for help. Last visit I reminded the doctor I was blind on my left. He didn't bother to move to where I could see him and fobbed ne off on a different guy who was either nervous or a bit dense, or just didn't care. They don't have an ultrasound for hard sticks so I end up with bruises everywhere from botched IV attempts. The only place they could put the IV this last time was in my foot, so they couldn't use contrast for my CT. I'd had a seizure in my doctor's office and when I arrived at the ER they had me there for stroke. No one listens or pays attention. One nurse was nice. The other was rude and dismissive. The doctor was out at the desk loudly discussing the patient diagnoses. When he got to me he was dismissive of my symptoms, saying there was nothing wrong with me because blood work and CT were normal. He said when my EEG was done they could send me home because it would likely be normal, too. Someone referred to me as "frequent flyer." At that point I ripped off my BP sleeve, the O2 monitor, and the extremely painful EEG band and threw them on the floor. I spend a third of my life in bed but there's nothing wrong with me. I have a seizure but there's nothing wrong me. I get searing headaches that last a month, and horrific neck and back pain everyday, but there's nothing wrong with me. I'm disgusted with Ashley Regional. UBH ER seems no better. I'd rather slit my wrists than live this way. Healthcare here in Eastern Utah sucks. Now replying to the apathetic, copied and pasted reply to this message: you can't possibly imagine that I would waste my time trying to call on Ashley Regional yourselves, to reply to this fake show of concern! You reply to every upset patient this exact same way. Go play on the highway.

I am giving 5 stars to the care of the E.R. doctor my family dealt with today. Dr. Jensen was very kind to a patient who was very unhappy to be there & for that I am grateful. Thank you for the great service & we wish there were more professionals like you.

I’ve had two wonderful experiences at this hospital, which is unusual due to our circumstances. Living homeless in my Suburban with 3 rescue dogs makes it challenging to receive needed treatment for my ulcerative colitis among other serious health issues, but the staff, doctors and nurses went above and beyond for us. Thank you so much to ER Director Kris, Nurses Annie & Christina, CT Scan Technician Eddie, Security Guard JQ and Maintenance Manager Damon for having pride in your work, kindness & compassion! You are the reason hope in humanity exists. Hope I don’t need to come back (feeling much better for now), but know I’ll be in good hands if I must. Will surely pass along my excellent feedback around town. Wishing you all the best 🙏

I would wholeheartedly recommend relying on the Ashley Regional team for help. Overall, the people here are extremely welcoming and giving. It doesn't matter who you ask when you need something, I found every person either made sure I got exactly what I needed or helped me get connected with someone who could. Plus, you'll probably see even the CEO and management team conducting rounds or checking on the staff. It's good going somewhere you know the management cares about their people and the team enjoys working together.
