The Sleep Medicine Center

I don't know how geauga sleep center is even in business. My experience there was terrible. I was rushed through my first appointment in like 2 minutes. The doctor didn't answer any of my questions or give me any information. He said he would talk more about it at another appointment. I brought all this up to the woman at the front desk. She was not surprised. After I left I ended up calling to cancel any further appointments. The woman at the desk said she expected me to call and she doesn't blame me. WHAT A JOKE

For people who stress how dangerous apneic episodes are while you sleep, they sure took their sweet time returning my numerous calls regarding the steps toward getting my first CPAP machine. The people in the office were extremely difficult to reach, as they were only reachable by phone 5-6 hours a day, twice a week. If you couldn't reach that specific person, no one else in the office was able to help you. A process that was supposed to take around a month ended up taking 5 months, from referral to receiving my CPAP machine. According to their own staff, at any point during the extra 4 months this process took, an apneic episode could have resulted in an aneurysm. I would not recommend Geauga Sleep Center to anyone I know based on my experiences. I will be telling my PCP to not recommend them to any other patients either.

My doctor sent me to them a few years ago and they were decent at first with trying to get CPAP supplies. However over the last two years or so post pandemic they have been horrible to deal with. I am now forced to leave messages for the ONE person that can help get me my supplies. If that one person gets the message then you get your supplies. If not, you have to wonder what happened. Never again!

I have never written a negative review. Being in health care, I understand the implications but I feel forced to do so now. My husband (now deceased ) had called numerous times about a billing error, with no response other than, “we’ll look into it “. After his death I few months ago, I continued to receive statements. I called several times, leaving messages and notifying them that my husband (a colleague of Dr. DeMarco) had died. I received a collection notice today. No response to phone calls. No consideration. It took a two minute phone call to the collection agency to credit my account. How sad.

No follow up after diagnosis. Given bi-pap machine and a quick tutorial and no one has followed up with me in two years. Every time I call with a question or to ask about masks, etc, I am treated more like an annoyance. This is a chronic condition that should be followed up on. I called after a year to request a follow up appointment. I asked about a certain mask and was told to go online and order one myself. One would expect with a chronic, serious medical condition, that the doctor and his staff would actually follow up from time to time to check that equipment was being used properly, etc.
