On 27 July 2023, I was scheduled to meet with Dr. Ahmed for the results of my sleep study. I tried to contact Desert Pulmonary for FOUR hours the day before the appointment and another four hours on the day of the appointment to confirm the address but no one would answer the telephone. I tried every available number for the office with no response. I decided to use the address listed on the office website. When I arrived at the 2730 Val Vista address, there was a note on the door giving a different address. It was 110 degrees outside and I drove all the way to work todthe alternate address. When I arrived, I was 15 minutes late. There were five or six en working in the office and none was answering the phones. I stood there and watched for several minI asked the receptionist why none was answering the phones and told her how I had been trying to call for two. She rolled her eyes back in her head and laughed. I was so mad I asked her she gave a damn that I had been driving all over the Valley in the heat. I told her to cancell the appointment and that I would find a different doctor. I will NEVER go back to Desert Pulmonary. I am sad to lose Dr. Ahmed but the office staff is so incompetent and uncaring, I could never go back.

As a new patient, I called to try to make an appointment at either their Val Vista or Baseline locations, left a message 3 weeks ago, never got a call back. Called again last week, left another message, never got a callback. Called and tried to make an appointment as an existing patient, I was directed to a mailbox for Cynthia that says it cannot receive messages. I have been sure to call during their business hours and have left all the details they require in their answering machine. No idea if anyone even works here, but looking at previous reviews, this appears to be the normal way of operating for this business. I’m surprised they can operate a business with such a poor system.

Dr. Gill is awesome (5 Stars). However the office staff and phone answering is almost impossible. I tried calling to get cpap prescription renewed. Called 3 times during the week and could not speak to someone. I eventually drove there and it took 5 minutes. They said they're having phone system issues, but they really need to get the phone issue remedied.

As of right now I’m unimpressed with Dr. Ahmed and this practice. I was in for my first visit on Oct 26th. Dr. Ahmed couldn’t have been more blasé and seemingly uninterested in me than he was. He said I need an echocardiogram (at Banner) and to go back back into his practice for a breathing test. The soonest I could get back into their practice is 7 weeks (I understand that they’re busy) and my echo was going to cost me over $1,000 AFTER insurance. I called Dr. Ahmed’s MA last Friday asking if I can skip the echo for now and proceed with the breathing test. Their voicemail message says they will return calls within 24 hrs. It’s now Tuesday and I still have not received a call back. Needless to say, we’re not off to a great start in me feeling confidence in this practice.

Getting tired of all the negative info and experiences with this location. Today I had a 10am appointment with Dr. Ahmed. I called at 8am to ensure the appointment was still active since I missed their call yesterday. The office assistant looked up my name and said everything was ready and he would be calling me at 10am. I waited until about 10:15am and called them to see why. Was I supposed to call, was the doctor late, what is going on? I was assured that the doctor was running late. I waited until 10:50am and called again to see why he had not called me as I had another phone appointment at 11am for work. They revealed that *someone* in their office screwed up and that he wasn't going to call me. Then they added insult to injury by telling me they couldn't get me in until mid April after THEY were the reason my appointment didn't happen. Are you kidding me? When doctors say they will charge you $25 for a missed appointment no matter what the reason why isn't there a reverse charge when they do it to you? Anyway after a lot of complaining they have rescheduled me for 2 weeks from now as if that is any kind of consolation. Go somewhere else with your referral. I'm considering it now.
