Joe is great and the folks who have answered the phone are very nice. However, two sleep tests, an overnight pulse oximetry test, and an attempt at CPAP and I am not better rested. Debra Mercy lacks compassion and empathy.
My initial appointment was much different than my follow up appointment. I had great interactions with everyone until my most recent visit with Debra Mercy. She was extremely short tempered with me. I felt like her attitude was degrading and she was talking down to me until I pointed it out. I felt like she had zero patience or empathy. My call was less than 5 minutes long. She was also 25 minutes late to my virtual visit and then she hung up on me before I finished saying goodbye. Do not recommend based on recent interaction.
Avoid at all costs! Especially S. Jasper! The complete lack of communication, accountability, and professionalism is bewildering! Never had an issue with a UofU center before. In a nutshell, they do not communicate with you about significant topics for your studies and never gets back to you in a timely manner. (3 months for results they claimed took 1, never returns messages) He also has a habit of not prescribing meds as he promises to and then you can’t get ahold of him to have it fixed.
I came in for my initial consultation and was with the doctor for 20 minutes. During that time the doctor took my vitals and then asked about 25 questions. The doctor then recommended a sleep study test down the road which was scheduled at the front desk. To my surprise I received a bill for $503. I am disputing this bill now and the billing department said these charges are for your pre-appointment, appointment and post-appointment. I asked what did they do for the pre and post that could possibly justify paying what equates to $1500 an hour. They said the pre-appointment was collecting my information which I informed them that I completed all of their forms through "mycharts." So they didn't have to do any work. They said the post-appointment was ordering medication (none were ordered) and scheduling follow-up appointments. This is crazy how they think they could possibly justify these charges. Stay away!!! I cancelled all of my future appointments with them.
The staff were so kind, caring, and really good at their jobs. Thank you night crew for treating me so well— I appreciate it. The facilities are old, dated, and incredibly uncomfortable. The blankets, chairs, decor, cabinets… everything in that place is so tired and old. It was really difficult for me to feel comfortable to get a good sleep study. I could also hear every word in the room across the hall, even with the door closed. You can also hear the machines in adjacent rooms. This building was not made for a sleep center and it was not an inviting experience. The equipment is so old. I received almost no preparation on what to expect, what to bring, or how to prepare, where I’d be parking, or how to get into the building. It went in blind and it was really nerve wracking. Thank you staff for doing such a good job.
