They told me they were going to take me off oxygen briefly to test my response without it. They did not inform me that would be most of the night - 440+ minutes below 88%. According to ChatGPT, permanent brain damage occurs below 80% and risk of death starts at 67%. The Idaho Center for Sleep let me go to 69%. I never would have knowingly consented to that experiment.

I was a patient for over 5 years. I had an old CPAP machine and wanted to get an updated one, that could work better. I "rented" a new machine. It was terrible! It didn't work for me. Left my mouth with NO moisture in my mouth in the morning and the tank would still be FULL of water. I returned the new CPAP machine after trying every setting and adjustment. They had NO OTHER OPTION for a different CPAP. After I returned the CPAP, I get a bill for $269.85 because I kept the seal, the tubing and the headpiece "frame". After discussing these fees with the billing department, she just said that is the best we can do, like she was doing me a favor. She kept repeating that the insurance company sets the price and she has nothing to do with it. Bottom line.. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE and/or BUY ONLINE the seal would be $30, the Tubing $25 and the head gear would be $15.99. STAY AWAY AND SAVE $200.
