The Veterans Affairs (VA) healthcare system has faced numerous challenges over the years, and many veterans have voiced concerns about long wait times, bureaucratic inefficiencies, and even poor treatment. It can feel like the very system meant to honor and care for veterans is failing them. If something feels wrong in your experience, it’s a reflection of a broader issue that needs more attention from lawmakers and the employees.

I'm a veteran, plus a clinician in the USDHHS. The service received, and the commitment of the Health Team at this facility, are exemplary. I prefer to travel to PR and be treated here, than the impersonal care received at some continental facilities. 'Nuff sed...

It’s impossible to contact this hospital by phone. The majority of the workers all they care about is to collect their juicy checks and take it easy, they forget they work for the veterans at the expense of tax payers money. The director of this hospital should be ashamed of himself.

2024/09/24 Their customer service and Call center is beyond garbage and it is worse now than it was 3 years ago. UPDATE as of 2023/04/18 This hospital’s customer service center is the worst in the nation. I have been to three in the states and I have never waited an hour or so for a transfer to the primary or specialized care. These people working on the call center should be fired and replaced with more adequate people for the job. They leave you on hold for 30-45 minutes just to hang up and collect a paycheck. The worst service overall. ——————————————————————— As a Veteran 100% service connected, I can vouch and say confidently that this Hospital and department (Customer Service and Telework), specially the RED Team as whole a is garbage. They don’t pick up the phone. All they do is talk among each other and their supervisors never do anything to hold them accountable (The Nepotism is evident). They never pick up and when they do, the extensions do not go to the place they are supposed to, and above all their customer service is below poor quality. Beyond disrespectful to the Veteran community. Make an ICE and congressional. They should defund this organization as whole in PR. I apologize to the Veteran community in advance for the poor service these organization gives. The communication has been beyond poor. Edit. 2021/11/30 The service is beyond poor.

The emergency room is mostly run by dedicated knowledgable staff. The other clinics have some individuals that I think they act as if the care to beterans is payed by them.
