Nurse Victoria Rooney – A True Angel at Rady Children’s Hospital Our family will never forget the compassion and care that Nurse Victoria Rooney showed our son, Isa Ahmed (Room 326), during one of the hardest times of our lives. From the moment she entered his room, her calm presence, kind heart, and professionalism made us feel comforted and hopeful. Victoria wasn’t just doing her job — she truly cared. She listened, reassured us, and treated our child as if he were her own. Every detail mattered to her, and she always went above and beyond to make sure Isa was comfortable and safe. She is the definition of an extraordinary nurse — knowledgeable, attentive, and deeply human. Even our son lit up when she entered the room. We genuinely believe she played a major role in his recovery through her gentle care and positivity. If I could give her 10 stars, I would. Thank you, Victoria, for being the heart of Rady Children’s Hospital. Families like ours will never forget what you’ve done.

I really do not recommend Rady Children's Hospital. Wonderful care but horribly expensive. A 30 minute visit for rule out wrist xray and then charged - $450 fee for the doctor, $564 for the xray, $750 for the facilities fee. Our insurance covered $150. Do not go here. I called Rady and was told this is their pricing for expert pediatric care

Our teenager was in a horrific accident and was taken here by ambulance. The level of care she received exceeded our expectations. Within hours she was taken into surgery and we are so grateful she was brought here. The post-op care has been easy and the original surgeon has been with us all along the way. Our stay here could have been slightly improved but this is a busy hospital, most of the nurses and doctors we dealt with were nothing short of amazing. Without them and the emergency team who responded, who knows the outcome of our daughter’s injuries. It’s been smooth sailing after an insane accident and we have Rady’s to thank for that. We’ve had no issues stemming from her surgery. THANK YOU.

We traveled from out of state to Rady Children’s Hospital after feeling uneasy about the care at our local facility. From the moment we arrived, Rady’s far exceeded our expectations. Every member of the team—doctors, nurses, physician assistants, technicians, and all support staff—demonstrated exceptional skill, compassion, and professionalism. Our daughter has been hospitalized many times due to her complex heart condition and multiple open-heart surgeries, but Rady’s truly stands out as the best hospital we have ever experienced. The staff treated our family with the highest levels of respect, dignity, and empathy, while providing expert, evidence-based care. It is clear that the professionals at Rady’s are not only highly knowledgeable and talented, but also deeply passionate about their work. Absolutely the best care for a Child that a mom could ask for. My daughter broke her femur riding an e-bike and although scary, they definitely made us feel like we were in the best place possible. We received the best care during our stay. We are grateful for Rady’s hospital. Jennifer C. & Ava A.
