I truly have no idea why the ratings are so low for this facility. Every single interaction I’ve had with them has been nothing but a great experience! I had been going to them for over a year for Botox for my migraines. They were always kind and attentive. The PA, Nicole Megali, is so sweet and personable. She is absolutely THE BEST! I had to switch insurances after getting a new job, and was extremely sad to have to go to a different Neurologist. Fast forward 2 years and I just called in today since, I’m getting my old insurance back, and Janicia answered. Let me tell you, she was sooo helpful and kind! She looked up my record and gave me all the information I needed and informed me of all the steps I needed to take in order to get back in to see the PA. Please don’t go by these ratings if you’re looking for a neurologist. Yes, the wait for the very first consultation to see the Neurologist was 3 months, but unfortunately in these times, that’s a pretty normal timeframe. To me it is worth it because in my experience they have been nothing but 100% professional and helpful. And a big shout out to all of them, THANK YOU!!!🙏🏼
I was admitted to the hospital via the ER following a seizure. At my follow up visit, with the PA. Who frankly seemed disinterested and unorganized. I was scheduled for a 24 hour EEG, because "the 10 minute tests they do at the hospital don't tell you much". Gee, seems like maybe we could have done some testing during the 5 days i was in the hospital. I did have numerous scans. We scheduled me to come in on the 22 of April to have the eeg monitor put on I get a message to confirm my appt. For the 21st of April, so there was some confusion, however I needed to reschedule the appt, because I am unable to drive, and my spouse was scheduled for a business trip. Imagine my dismay when I was informed that I would have to wait 6 months, until September to have this EEG monitoring done. The person that answered the phone said they are very busy. Maybe it's my entitled selfishness but it seems like if you can not do a diagnostic test, to try to determine the cause of new onset seizures for 6 months, perhaps you should not be accepting new patients.
I can not express how frustrating and difficult it is to get through to the nuerolgy center! It's become a horrible ordeal to speak to someone or just to make an appointment!!! I've been trying to get in to see a neurologist face-to-face after having a stroke in April 2034. Even though I received the referral in my Sharp portal, they won't schedule me because, according to them, the referral hasn't shown up in their portal!! At another time, when I finally got an appointment its not until November, even after i told the girl that I'm having weakness throughout my body and severe fatigue, she still wouldnt schedule me in sooner. Since I continue I'll I've left messages with one or two different admins to let them know how awful im feeling every day and that i have the referral, but still, no one has returned my calls! Every single time I've called, the wait time is over 30 minutes. They give the option to leave my call back number, which i do, BUT they hardly ever call back! So, another day passes, and I have to start everything all over again. 😞
The 2-star average here is very accurate! The staff is incredibly rude and terrible at their jobs, in particular someone named Kiara but really everyone I've talked to, which is so different from every other healthcare office I've been to. They have a 7-month wait for appointments and 45 minutes of hold time for calls too lol! If you fax something to them, they'll for sure lose it and you'll have to send it over 5 times before it's received. Just an awful place, I wish I had found another neurologist ages ago and I've told all my other doctors to never refer anyone to them.
I truly hope the physicians are more coordinated than their staff. I must preface that I never ended up going to my appointment. Once my referral had been approved I was contacted, via text message to confirm/cancel my appointment. However, this office never called me to arrange the appointment to begin with, which was a red flag. What doctor's office never verbally communicates -- especially with first-time patients? I live in Oceanside, and because it is rare for anyone to literally answer the phone, I had to assume their website would inform me on what was never communicated. This office never changed their website information which does not reveal they are no longer in Oceanside. When I finally got someone on the phone, and I relayed the above, neither an apology nor a confirmation to update their information was provided. The person who answered me (who continuously let the phone ring until I kept getting error messages after umpteenth rings/times called) was like pulling teeth in trying to establish an appointment for another time. She actually sounded put-off when I explained my frustrations with their poorly managed and unprofessional disorganization. Again, the doctors may be great, however, no one should ever feel like they are apart of a three-ring circus just make/have an appointment. I thought that was the easy part?!
