I asked my GP for a referral in early July. I was referred to Katrina Merrill at the Meridian St. Al's. In August, I called find out when I could get an appointment. I was told that a committee had to meet to review my records and I would be given an appointment after that meeting. Here it is October and I still hadn't heard anything from them. I called again, and talked to a phone operator who took a lot of information from me and then forwarded my call to the "Referral Coordinator" for the facility. I got a recorded message. Chelsea called me the next day and said that my referral had gotten lost in their system. She said that my records still needed to be reviewed before I could get an appointment. I decided I had been patient enough and said I would try elsewhere. St. Al's doesn't seem to be able to handle the administration side of their business. The medical side may be good, but who would ever know if they are treated like this?

Tina is absolutely unprofessional at her job. She’s scared of “hippa” policies and her “job” which she left the most pathetic voicemail on my so called not secured voicemail, yet I’ve approved for all information to be left there. It’s my 6 year old, if you’re calling about him, tell me and I’ll call you back. He doesn’t have a phone or can’t make medical decisions on his own yet TINA. THANKS! Work with anyone else to schedule.

Sleep medicine is not the ER so I understand it will take some time to get an appointment. It took over 3 months and then I was canceled the day of without an offer to switch to another provider. I finally make it in and I'm met with indifference and even disdain with the quote: "do you even want to do this"? since they thought I was an insurance client. I am cash and just need a prescription for a new machine. It's a simple FAX and I was told that "FAXs take up to a week". lol they don't but, at any rate, I'm now 14 days past my appointment and the CPAP resource and this office can't seem to coordinate in this modern age of instantaneous communication. So...I am now 6 months and counting from the initial referral. No machine yet. If you want to do business with St. Al's sleep, give yourself the better part of a year to make it happen.

I made an appointment through MyChart portal on a Friday evening for the following Tuesday with the provider listed on the MyChart portal. On Monday morning I get a message that I can’t see that provider as I’ve previously seen a different provider and can’t change providers. So my appointment is cancelled. Only problem is that “my” provider can’t see me for a month! My CPAP machine stopped working last week. The receptionist talked as if this was all my fault as I cancelled my appointment last May. I don’t remember why I cancelled but my CPAP wasn’t broken then. Since when do I not have the right to change providers? My insurance is a PPO plan and I am not limited to certain providers.
