I got to my appointment ahead of schedule, filled out all of their paperwork, and was left in an uncomfortable folding chair in a room for over thirty minutes. The woman I talked to lied to me about my insurance company requiring an in facility sleep study. They wanted me to drive to Brewster for the study but said I could not take my emotional support cat who helps me sleep. I called my insurance company and was told I can indeed do an at home study. I have an appointment at a reputable clinic to get my sleep study equipment.
They treated me with much respect and kindness. The home sleep kit is easy to use. They let me keep it for a couple days longer than normal cuz I had transportation issues. I highly recommend them for sleep problems!
Had the home test in December and worked with the CPAP machine for 3 months and was completely frustrated. With the lack of help from the clinic I stopped using it and sought help elsewhere. I did not think I had sleep apnea so I had another sleep study done by Multicare in hospital and the result showed I did not need CPAP or Inspire. I would encouage everyone to pursue another provider.
My initial consult was great, the doctor seemed like he really wanted to help me. He said if I needed a cpap they had lots of tricks and tips to help Brittney at the front desk is very helpful. Rikki was an awesome sleep tech very helpful and comforting. The problem was the follow up visit. The lady i saw couldn't answer my questions clearly and even at one point said there was too much data to understand. I was frustrated at this point. She said they didn't use Apaps and when I asked why it was because they "didn't know anything about them" which is concerning. It made me feel like a money driven thing....She wanted me to come for quite a few follow ups. She just stared at me while I cried and told me that I could have surgery that may or may not work and I could either use a cpap or not. Seemed very cold and not helpful.
We had a very negative experience when I brought my son, Daniel, for a sleep consultation. We had to wait 45 minutes after our appointment time for them to take us back. No one was wearing a mask correctly. One of the receptionists was wearing her mask below her nose and every time she’d talk to my son, she’d lower her mask. My son is 2 and knows how to correctly wear a mask, but none of the staff could. Then once we saw the doctor he checked my sons mouth and hit his teeth with the flashlight that wasn’t working. Then when talking about my sons sleep issues, the doctors advice was to make him cry it out. If a child is having sleep issues, and potentially health related sleep issues, crying it out isn’t going to help that. They also said that we should bring a bed rail from home because they didn’t have one. Here’s my issue with that... when this office sent info to my pediatricians office, they made it seem like they were great with children and dealt with them often. From my experience and what I can tell, they’ve never had children in the office, and absolutely shouldn’t. When my pediatrician asked how the appointment went, and I told her what happened, she was embarrassed for sending me there. They won’t be referring anymore patients there. You need better staff at this clinic.
