They don't have basic understanding of what is covered or not by major insurance plans for services that they regularly provide. I waited 3 weeks for an in-lab sleep study only to have it canceled the day before due to them not checking insurance.
Wish I could give them 0 stars. I still can’t get them to stop robot calling me. One of the worst medical experiences I’ve ever had. Don’t do it.
I had two sleep studies done at this facility in the last month or two. Both were easy to schedule, and the 2nd was pushed earlier when there was a cancellation, thanks to a call from the helpful staff (Mercy G. and Glenn Q.). Arrival and intake was simple and straightforward. The building is secure (must use intercom to get in) and the surrounding area seemed safe and fairly quiet. Yamilet was my sleep tech the 2nd apt (with CPAP), she was very friendly and informative and was careful to be as non-intrusive as possible. They have a choice of 3 different types of CPAP mask depending on your needs and comfort. The bed was actually pretty comfy and the wires are surprising not as distracting as they look while lying down. Be aware that they need pateients out by 6am, so wake up time is around 5-5:30am. There are 4 bedrooms and one accessible all gender bathroom. The rooms also have heating and cooling and windows that can be opened. All in all, pretty cozy considering! And a great sleep study experience. Thanks Jiva staff!
I had waited nearly three months from the time I saw my primary care provider about getting a new CPAP, knowing I would need a sleep study, and the date that Jiva had scheduled for the procedure. At around 6PM on the night before the procedure was supposed to occur, after their office was closed, I received notification the study had been canceled because there were problems with the referral. How, over the intervening weeks when they got the referral and the eve of the procedure, no one noticed the inadequacy speaks volumes about their competency. The fact that they didn’t contact the referring physician prior to cancellation speaks volumes about their disregard for their patients needs. In this day of near instant transfer of data, the fact they couldn’t have been bothered to even try to clear up the mess just solidifies in my mind I’ve lucked out by being cancelled. If simple paperwork problems throw them for a loop, it doesn’t bode well for their ability to perform medical procedures.
