The Moanlua Kaiser Permanente has great staff that helped accommodate for me as an exhausting patient who has a VERY bad fear of needles and anxiety in hospitals. I went in all alone for the first time for my first actual blood drawl and all staff dealing with me provided kindness and comfort without it seeming like a hassle. I know deep down it is but the compassion I finally received made me more confident and overcome this fear. The initial doctor had listened to me perfectly which most minimize my experience. He was beyond helpful and honestly gave me hope that there are people who want to help. The man drawing my blood helped me understand the procedure and accommodated the best he could. Even a lady who had me signed forms stayed to hold my hand which is usually a job for my mother, haha! She is great! The nurse gave me a blanket and turned the bright light off and had great conversation and distracted me well when I did get my blood drawn. I usually pass out to something like a shot but I was perfectly fine with their help! This team was everything I could ask for and it’s unfortunate there aren’t many like these lovely staff. Although it was out of the way for them, they happily helped and honestly it was life changing for me as I get really bad luck with doctors. Thank you so much! I pray they get the raise and recognition they DESERVE! ♡

i just got this insurance through my job but will definitely change it after this experience. i had went to the ER, because i was sick and i was having rashes in the inside of my elbow that went all the way through my neck. as i got the the ER, a man who i didn't get his name and a woman, Kimberly was infront of the desk.. she was tugging on the BP on my arm.. the man was asking me questions and this woman then proceeded to SHOVE the thermometer in my mouth and i just thought maybe im just thinking negatively since im sick. but when i was in the waiting room, the doctor who came in told me that its normal to have rashes like that ? i've been on this island for almost half of my life and i have never had this rashes AT ALL, he just called it "dermatitis". OKKK a diagnosis, didn't tell me what to put, what to look out for, how to treat it, what caused it etc etc I HAD TO ASK THOSE QUESTIONS.. i was also sick so he ordered me a Flu sample kit, made me wait for about 2 hours and came back to let me know "it came back negative.. but it's probably another viral virus" OKAY ? so what kind of virus and how can i treat it ???? i just decided to leave because i felt like i was just being helped unless i was dying lol.. i know not to come here anymore

I switched insurances to Kaiser due to a job change two months into my pregnancy, I was a little worried to have to switch over but was assured by the midwives at my old hospital that I was in good hands with the nurses and midwives at Kaiser. From the moment I went into triage, every nurse and midwife was so helpful and informative and kept me in good spirits. I had my birth preferences and they told me they would honor it while also giving alternate options and explaining the benefits of those options. Felt good to have an open conversation about my options, and not once did I ever feel forced to make a decision I didn’t want to. Once I was in L&D, communication remained great with status of my labor, etc. they checked in often. They made sure I was comfortable. And when it came time to push, I was guided throughout the whole thing and was able to have a quick, safe delivery of my first baby. Even in postpartum (mother and baby room), the nurses were so warm and kind and helped me navigate through all the new mama things, swaddling, burping, feeding etc. I really could go on and on about what a beautiful experience I had with Kaiser and its staff. Thank you so much for helping me get through such a pivotal, important milestone. mahalo Nui!

It was easy to get to by Uber. They do have shuttles from the airport. They don't make appointments from the departments you need service to and no business center for arranging a payment plan. You need to call for making appointments and arranging payment plans. Otherwise, the staff are helpful and friendly. They do try to be there for you. The Uber pick up and drop off is at the front entrance. Same with Taxi service and shuttle service to the airport!
