Horizon Sleep & Epilepsy Center

I’ve been a patient here for the last 2 or so years. It was fine and the Dr was nice and listened to my concerns. Recently, I had a change of insurance, I called to verify if they accepted my new insurance and the lady on the phone told me that the Dr was leaving practice and not accepting new patients. That would’ve been great to know beforehand because if I didn’t call I would’ve showed up to my appointment in August with no idea what happened. I told her my concern she said that she’ll not be here by my appointment in August. They should’ve definitely told patients in advance of this. This was about a month or so ago. Now, I’m in the process of finding a new neurologist since I’m almost out of meds. I’ve called and been sent to voicemail many times. I drove to the clinic and the place is closed. I just want a refill on my meds. Now every neurologist I’ve tried to switch to requires my records yet I can’t get in contact with this Dr to request them. Needless to say I’m frustrated and pissed and quite frankly SOL. Like if you’re gonna leave practice/close INFORM YOUR PATIENTS WELL IN ADVANCE SO THEY CAN PREPARE TO FIND SOMEONE ELSE AND GET THEIR REFILLS/RECORDS. DON’T LEAVE THEM IN THE DARK. Bffr right now.

My initial opinion of this office was good, Dr Ahmed seemed pleasant and thoughtful. Issue is only got to see her 1 time in 6 months and my sleep study took forever. Tried to get follow up but now the practice is closing so my appointment got canceled and having difficulty getting records. Need a letter from them for VA but they said can't do and referred me to my GP who is of course not a neurologist/specialist so of course they can't do it. Now have to wait for referral to another neurologist and wait again. I'd say avoid this place but closing anyways. Bottom line Dr was inaccessible for 6 months and had scheduling issues. Technicians who did the overnight sleep studies were great, but everything else took forever, or never happened (no follow up appointment with Dr ever). Will see if they forward me my records and send to my GP also as promised...

Wonderful!! I was dealing with migraines on a regular (almost daily) basis, some of them so bad that I couldn't go in to work. Dr. Ahmed was very thorough and was able to get me on preventative medications. She is very good at explaining things to you and helping you understand the treatment she's putting you on. I rarely have headaches/migraines now! I can't say thank you enough.

This office should be shut down for treating people the way they do. My husband has epilepsy and he had to change his appointment for a different day cause he had to work. He ran out of his epilepsy medicine before his next appointment so he called to have them refill them and they refused. Which is life threatening considering he can have seizures without it. So they call back eventually and say we'll refill for the next 3 months but you can find yourself a primary care physician since all we do is give you medicine anyway. They cancel his appointment and everything. It's absolutely sickening. DO NOT BE A PATIENT HERE. YOU DO HAVE OPTIONS.

I have been going here for some years now due to following my pituitary tumor and sleep apnea and up until late, I didn't have an issue. I was offered a job opportunity and went in to shadow and realized the work load for pay wasn't realistic and too "all over the place". I politely declined after completing 4 days of training and one never received the pay that I was told I would receive and two,got a phone call today from Aerocare ( where I get my cpap supplies) letting me know Dr Ahmed fired me as a patient and I risk losing my sleep apnea treatment unless another doctors picks it up. I thought they stood by the " do no harm for your patient" but clearly they do not care. The true colors were shown. What doctor dismisses a patient bc of their own personal agenda?I have legit health issues and didn't deserve that. Highly unprofessional and shows just who they are.
