My visit with Dr. Harrington was excellent. She explained things to me and answered my questions. She is in the right field. Wish we could duplicate her in many other physicians fields. 🙏
I was referred to SCENT for a sleep study. The am of my consult (11/18/2025) I rec’d a text to check in for my appt. This was for me to submit my visit copay before arrival. During my actual appt, I was up front w/the med tech who took me to the exam room & w/Dr. Emani that I didn’t want to do anything that would cause my deductible to trigger before years end. I was only there to get a sleep study set up. I was w/Dr. Emani maybe 10 min & orders were submitted. At check out, I was told the sleep lab would contact me for scheduling. After a week passed & I didn’t hear from the lab, I called and l/m on Nov 26. On Thanksgiving at 7:17 pm, I rec’d a text from SCENT that I have an outstanding bal. I logged into my ins portal and it showed that I was charged for a consult ($275) and for an “Office Surgery” ($349). Ins had applied my deductible to this “Office Surgery.” I immediately sent a msg to SCENT as I didn’t have surgery. No response. On Dec 1, I called the office & spoke w/Latoya. I explained my concerns & she agreed that I didn’t have surgery. She said the $349 was for the nasal endoscopy. When I said I was only there for a consult, she said when the dr looked up my nose it was a nasal endoscopy procedure. I asked how I was to supposed to know this was not part of the consult? Latoya told me that a consult is only talking; that I should have known there was going to be additional billing. I told her that other drs. have looked up my nose & in my ears during appts & I have never been charged for a surgery. I asked if there was another way to code the charge? I would have never agreed to the “procedure” or would’ve pushed my appt until after the 1st of the year had I known. Latoya went silent & I asked if she was still there. She said yes. I then asked if I could speak w/the dr. She laughed (or chuckled – however you want to split the hair) & said that she guessed I could but it wasn’t going to change anything. I already had it done. This made me very upset & I asked for her supervisor. We began talking over each other. As I felt the convo was no longer productive I again asked for her supervisor. We both said we were glad the phone call was being recorded. She placed me on hold & came back twice stating she was waiting on the supervisor. The 3rd time she said she was transferring me to Ivan. I was then transferred straight to v/m. When Ivan called back he explained he is out of state in the corporate office & that I needed to speak w/the Clinic Manager as there was nothing he could do from corporate given the charges had already been processed thru ins. I told him that is who I asked to speak with –Latoya’s supervisor– and that I had no idea why I was transferred to him. Not only did he read portions of Latoya’s email (from her to him) wherein she admits to “chuckling” he also voiced what he was typing back. He directed the Clinic Manager to call me back. This has never happened. On Dec 1st I also sent a detailed email to Dr. Emani. No response. On Dec 3rd I received a hard invoice for my bal owed. On Dec 4th, John in the sleep lab called. I told him I wouldn’t be going fwd based on an unresolved negative experience w/the office. He marked my order inactive & cancelled my follow up appt. Not even this has prompted anyone to get in touch w/me. IMO, their only focus is money – not patient care. They texted on Thanksgiving & sent me an invoice all before the sleep lab could even bother calling. I guess I should’ve known when they had me submit my visit copay BEFORE arriving for my consult. And communication is an issue, not only with the front office, but also w/the med staff as no one –not the med tech nor Dr. Emani– indicated I was having a “nasal endoscopy” procedure (i.e. mere seconds of glancing up my nose) performed that would be billed as a surgery. I don’t know about you, but any other “oscopy” or “procedure” I’ve ever had was scheduled as a separate appt that I could verify w/ins what my out of pocket would be. I was there for a consult. Period.
Dr. Harrington was excellent! She listened to all my concerns and diagnosed the cause of the issues I was experiencing. The medicine she prescribed me has helped a lot. You won't regret going with her!
Very clean facility, welcomed in fast and friendly, taken to the back within a reasonable amount of time. However, I wasn’t seen by the provider until being in the facility, and waiting for over an hour with no explanation. When I finally saw the provider, I found that she was very knowledgeable, she listened to me and did not dismiss my concerns, which I genuinely appreciated. She took the time to explain her decisions, which helped me understand her course of actions.
I’ve been twice & each time the staff is behind with no apologies. I think I will have to take my child to another ENT because I don’t even trust their medical results. I was seen for 5 mins but waited 45 minutes to get in the back and after the testing, I still didn’t get to speak to someone about the results. I had to leave. The front desk staff is really nice. They don’t seem to have a good time management & appointment management. My time is just as valuable as theirs.
