It was the worse hospital I ever was in . Respiratory people were the worse. Gave me all my inhalers and breathing treatments but never gave me anything to rinse my mouth out with. I was to weak and sick to think about it. Came home with thrush all in my mouth. It was hard to get a nurse to come in and help me with going to the bathroom. And they complained about my husband staying in there with me . And the one nurse had me in tears the last day I was there . I guess they are overworked. My husband could have been a big help.
Dr. Robinson and Dr. Godard in the ER dept are absolutely amazing not only for their care and attention to detail but also bedside manner. There are also several nurses that are amazing. Mrs. BJ is very memorable, comforting, and has great bedside manner. Never be afraid of asking to speak to a charge nurse, Mrs BJ listens and advocates as best as she can. She honestly should have a statue in my opinion! The ladies on the infusion floor are absolutely amazing as well ♡ Sadly I've had a HORRIBLE experience with Dr. Mitchell and Dr. Fajardo being SUPER dismissive and trying to sweep patients out asap even with valid concerns. Luckily I didn't give up and accept their wrong diagnosis and got it figured out. Had I listened to them and followed along with the idea that it was cannabis toxicity and a viral illness I wouldn't have gotten my Lyme diagnosis or known that I was in metabolic acidosis. There are some great staff members at this hospital but also some that are sub par. Pay attention, ask questions. Be informed of your conditions and potential treatments. Advocate for yourself ALWAYS.
Worst hospital I have ever seen. The PAs aren’t worth a crap, went in for chest pain, my oxygen dropping when I walked, their respiratory day time department is a joke, make you walk up and down aisles to see if your oxygen drops, it drops but they ain’t looking at the machine decides to stop me then look at it and tell me see it’s 100%. And then has the nerve to come tell me I’m holding my breath…. I’m sorry but I am not willingly allowing myself to stay in a god awful hospital to get pricked like a pin cushion because none of them could get blood or an IV, I am not a woman to go and take up a doctors time for nothing but a lie, I don’t go and take away from someone else who is in worse shape than I am to a lie. I was anxious and couldn’t figure out what was going on and they just made me feel like a number they don’t give two craps about how people feel, and never could tell me why I was light headed, or was having dizzy spells, the only good people there was the cardiologist and a couple nurses I came in contact with during the night I thank those who was nice to me. But I promise you if these episodes continue and I end up going to Richmond because they didn’t want to take things seriously and they find something else wrong I will not hesitate to make it known what kind of crap show they are running. And please do not reach out to me for anymore nonsense about the review that was just left, because honestly you ain’t worth coming back to. If you want your family members took care of do NOT go to this hospital.
This place should get no stars. They can't help people on the weekend because everyone is off. What hospital does that. No pillows to help prop up. Maybe I should buy some at Walmart and bring them some. I can't even call 911 when I have an emergency Thanks for reducing the population because you didn't want to work on the weekends Stroke or heart attack on the weekend DEAD. Responsibilities...ummm not today
We took our son to the emergency room here. We were sent over from urgent care due to the concern of possible appendicitis. While there, it seemed like they kept trying to dismiss all of his symptoms. They did do an x-ray eventually, and we were told they could not find his appendix but they were not concerned everything else looked fine. To me that was red flag number 1. The doctor came to us and said that it's probably a virus because he wasn't acting like other children do when they have appendicitis. The doctor then said, we can wait it out and let it run it's course or if we wanted a CT scan. Again, we were asked if we wanted a CT scan, they did not think he needed one. We got there at 830am and it was now Noon. After the CT scan and blood work, it was evident he had an infection going on but again they couldn't give us a real answer about the CT scan results. However because they couldn't rule out appendicitis, they wanted to transport us to a Children's Hospital. We finally left the hospital at 2pm. When we arrived at the Children's Hospital, they took one look at my son's images and scans and saw in the notes from this Hospital that he had fluid around where the appendix would be. We were told that is usually a clear indication of appendicits. This hospital never said anything about seeing any fluid. The Childrens hospital immediately took him to the OR. He had a severely ruptured appendix and infection was spread out every where inside his pelvis. The Children's hopsital told us his appendix probably ruptured the night before when he spiked a very high fever. So this was over 24 hours since the rupture. I just couldn't believe that it took me demanding the CT scan for them to be like oh yea something may be wrong. I am thankful they did provide care for him while there, but I felt completely dismissed as a Mother that knows her child and when something is seriously wrong. It is also concerning that with an xray and ct scan, there wasn't a more definite answer or more concern and we were not accurately informed on other findings in the xray. If we would have listened to the doctor ( I'm sorry Nurse Practioner) and "let it run it's course" our son would not be here. You have to be your own advocate at this place! Please do better at listening to your patients and their families. Please be upfront with findings and do not be dismissive of symptoms they are telling you. You are trusted as a hospital. Unfortunately our trust for you was lost that day. As a parent and not a doctor even I understand everybody is different, and one childs experience with appenditis will be different than another child's.
