I can’t say enough good things about DRH, I spent 10 days there and the staff was consistently kind, efficient, and knew their jobs well. The night nurses in particular, especially Doug, Q, and Dorota went above and beyond and I am super grateful to them. The surgery team was top-notch and kept me well-informed on my progress. Being hospitalized was unexpected but I’m super lucky I ended up at DRH.

We had an outstanding experience with the burn clinic team. The sweetest professionals we have ever met. Treating my 80 year old mother in law’s burn , they were beyond amazing. I specifically want to mention Dr. Megan and nurse Sylvie. These two heroes were exceptional. The care they provided was from the heart and we could see their sweets souls shining through from their warmest welcomes to their sweetest goodbyes. We wait passionately to see them for our Next appointment. Dr.Megan and nurse Sylvie are two of the rare sweetest professionals that any patient can encounter. They deserve the world. They are such an amazing asset to this hospital and I wish more medical staff can be like Them. Not to forget the ladies at the valet parking, we appreciate you so much for your sweet smiles and warm welcomes also and thank you for always making it very convenient for us. We come from far and we don’t mind at all with such sweet people.

I had an outstanding experience at Detroit Receiving Hospital from start to finish. Parking was easy and convenient, check-in was smooth and efficient since I checked in ahead of time online, and the staff at the sleep clinic were professional and welcoming. Every doctor and nurse I encountered showed real care and attention, making me feel comfortable and confident throughout the entire process. It’s rare to find such a well-coordinated, compassionate level of care—Detroit Receiving Hospital truly exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend.

This hospital is horrible! The lazy and unhelpful front desk clerks lack professionalism to the fullest! We asked to have our parking validated and was told parking was only for patients!! That made completely no sense to us!! My daughter was taken here on November 7th in the evening, bc her defribillator fired off multiple times, and unfortunately, this was where Michigan Medicine suggested to have her taken here until transport arrived to take her to Michigan Medicine. This is a sad excuse for a hospital. The building is functional obsolescence inside and outside of this place. Where's the updated medical equipment, the nurse call button, the list goes on... It's extremely dirty, the bathrooms are small and unattended, the night nurses that we encountered were extremely rude and unhelpful, there was a patient smoking marijuana in the room next to us, the ER at this place is a circus to say the least!! There were a handful of nurses and doctors that provided exceptional health care for our daughter, and for that, we are very grateful. Overall, this hospital needs to be thoroughly inspected maybe even condemned. It's a total embarassment to the city and is no place where the sick can be healed. You all really need to do better!!! They have no clue what professionalism is It's very sad... If you can, please take your loved ones where they will be treated with dignity and respect. Whoever reads this and can put me in touch with someone that has the authority to give a damn, please reach out to me!!! -

I am writing to express my sincere gratitude for the exceptional care provided by your nurse Tasha W. during my stay from October 2 through the present. Tasha has a truly remarkable ability to communicate clearly and empathetically. My medical situation is complex, as I was in a motorcycle accident resulting in damages to upper and lower limbs. Tasha is always timely and thorough with my medications and other needs, and she patiently answers all of my questions, which significantly reduced my anxiety. Tasha is consistently attentive and demonstrates impressive clinical skills. I felt completely confident and safe under her care, and it is clear that she is a skilled and knowledgeable professional. She is a true asset to your team, and her competence and kindness make a difficult time much more manageable. There was a point that I was down and felt myself slipping toward depression after the first three weeks being in the hospital. Tasha took a wild chance and asked if she could just take me outside for some fresh air. The request was approved and afterward that small gesture changed my entire demeanor. . Suddenly everything was eventually going to be okay. Thank you for having such a dedicated and compassionate nurse on your staff. Some of the other nurses who have taken care of me during this situation should take notes on what it means to be a nurse. When Tasha is in the hospital and even close to the unit I am in, she will still just stop by to say hi and ask if i am okay or if I need anything. That just goes to show it is in her heart to care and a true Nurse. Tasha is a true asset to your facility.
