Novi Sleep and Diagnostic Center

I went for a sleep study a couple of weeks ago. I had a very bad experience! I arrived at my schedule time of 9:30pm. I was barely greeted by the technician, Brandon. He just started walking past the waiting area and I was not sure if I was supposed to follow him. I had to ask if I was to follow him. He was extremely dry and that had me feeling uneasy because he was the only technician there. I was considering leaving, but realize there was another patient, so I felt a bit of relief. I was instructed to put on my pj's and then the equipment was put on. I didn't realize that sensors were being placed in my head, I wish I was informed prior to that day. He had to rub the oil out my head and used some type of material to hold the sensors in(it left alot of residue in my hair). I was then instructed to use the bathroom prior to being hook up the additional equipment. Afterwards, I was only told that the sleep study would be over at 5:30, which I thought was early since I had to arrive at 9:30pm and it took a couple of hours to put the equipment on and go to sleep. He also stated he will be watching me and if didn't have to enter the room, the test was a success. He also stated it was okay for me to be on my phone, but to try to go to sleep ASAP. The beginning of the major issue. With all the equipment, I was very uncomfortable, but understandable. But, the loud furnace system made it hard to sleep. I woke up a couple of times during the night. The second time I woke up, I was extremely hot and mouth was very dry. So I drunk some water and tried to go back to sleep but then I had to pee. I tried to search how to unhook myself, but couldn't find it. I called my husband and stated had to pee but wasn't sure how to unhook my self. He asked was there a call button and I said I couldn't find one, that I only knew the technician was watching me on camera.. After getting off the phone, I tried to locate the call button and then I tried to call the number to sleep center to see if it could reach the front desk. Well, right after I tried to call, Brandon responded by saying..Did you try to use your voice, in very rude tone!! I responded, that I would have if I knew there was an intercom system in the room.I asked him, so you heard me on the phone, so me searching for something and did not once ask if I needed assistance until about 15 minutes later. He claimed he had told me about 5 times and stated I been doing this for 15 years . Well, I would have known if he told me 5 times! I went to the restroom and came back and said I'm leaving. I will not stay somewhere after being treated so rudely. He could have responded a different way but choose to respond in a demeaning manner. I called the office the next day. They apologized for his actions and stated they may need to reschedule my sleep study because it may not have been enough data. I informed them they will have to send me somewhere else or schedule me with another tech, because I do not want to deal with him anymore. Well they were supposed to reach out my initial sleep doctor that sent me there and followup with me. No one ever followed up with me..I had to contact my initial doctor and they said they never received a call from Novi Center. If I ever have to do a sleep study again, I will never come back here and will advise any friends or family to not go here!!!

I work at an office that makes cpap alternatives and Dr. Gera was the only sleep doctor who would have a conversation and learn about new options. Anyone who wants a cpap this is the man you want to see. He knows what he's talking about and will let you know how to fix the root problem and not the symptoms.

Best sleep doctor in town! Seen another review that there was a wait (which all offices have) well worth the wait! Office was VERY clean & staff was amazing to work with. I would recommend this office to anyone!

I wish I could give zero stars. Waited months for initial appointment. Got called out of waiting room 20 minutes late, got vitals taken then waited til an hour after appointment still no doc. I walked out and asked the receptionist if I had been forgotten about she said 1 sec... 10 minutes later doc came in. I said my appointment was over an hour ago why so late. He acted put off by the question and told me he could explain why or we could start talking. I left. I'll be finding a new doc, suggesting that the referring doc refers elsewhere, and make sure my insurance knows all i got is vitals taken. Hopefully they deny any payment.
