Avera St. Luke's Sleep Lab

I honestly thought highly of this hospital because of its name. But unfortunately I have to leave a not good review. The nurses on the 3rd floor are very rude an disrespectful. My grandfather was there in his final days of life. An the staff treated him an my grandmother terrible. I myself work in the medical field. An coming in this hospital an seeing how unsympathetic they were makes my heart hurt. Violation of hippa laws. Nurses discussing patient care infront of other families. One nurse specifically said. "He supposedly used a urinal per the wife" "no proof of that" "He stopped eating so there you have that too". Then my grandfather's nurse decided to come in his room on her cellphone having a full conversation. When my grandmother asked her a question she told her to wait. Finished her 10 min call then decided to ask my grandma what she wanted. My grandma said "its ok nevermind" she looked at my grandma took a deep breath an walked out. Very unprofessional! Im very disappointed in the nursing staff there. I could never treat any like that. Let alone when they are in their final days of life. Do better!

I was a patient at Avera in Sept. 2025 and was very pleased with the good care. The doctor and the nurses and the aides were wonderful. I usually choose Avera St. Lukes in Aberdeen, S.D.

My wife had surgery there and stayed three nights. The entire staff were awesome! They were extremely friendly and caring. The staff managed to make her stay a comfortable experience. I can't thank Nurse Sam and the rest of them enough.

Took our 6 week old daughter in with chest congestion and she was having issues breathing. Nobody even bothered to look at her or even acknowledge she's having problems breathing. They made us wait in the waiting room to fill out some paperwork. After 30 minutes there was still no sign of help. When we approached the nurse at the front desk she gave the worst attitude and followed up with "I told them in the back so they know." Needless to say if this is an emergency room they truly don't treat it as such. Pathetic excuse for "healthcare". After that disrespectful visit, we will be taking our children to Sanford!

so incredibly unprofessional they stuck me with needles took my urine and put a catheter in me and prescribed me medication as a minor without ever once calling my mother like they told me they would and both the doctors and the nurses were so unnecessarily rude one doctor set my appointment and gave me the card with the time and date on it and then called me an hour before what was written on the card to say i had missed the appointment but i could come in later that day and when i did the doctor came in and told me how irresponsible i was and how i wasting her time. She prescribed me an antidepressant out of the blue and i never once told her i was even sad and i didn’t ask for them. i’ve never had such bad service from any establishment in my life. absolutely ridiculous such a hostile staff for being a hospital
