I would love to give a review but when I called on December 1, 2025 to make an appointment for my 95 year-old father that was referred as urgent, we were scheduled for an appointment in August 2026. Unfortunately, the option for rating 0 stars isn’t an option
I had the best experience at this location. My neurologist and his mentor both went through everything with me, I’ve never felt the level of compassion and confidence that I’m going to be helped in my medical journey to get back to my old self.
This has been some of the worst experiences I've had dealing with health providers. I almost cant believe how dysfunctional this clinic is. I have so much empathy for everyone in the comments that is sick and dealing with this place. You would think a place like this has have a better system and people working there. About 7 months ago, my doctor sent a referral to UC Davis Neurology from Stanford. I never heard back. No call. No email. Nothing. After waiting around 2 months, I called them myself. They told me they were still working through referrals and would try to expedite mine. They told me to follow up again in a week or two. During this time, I lose my job — due to the chronic pain I was dealing with every day. I had worked as an engineer for 12 years. A month later, still no contact. I follow up again, they tell me they couldn’t process the referral because my insurance had been canceled (from losing my job). I asked why no one notified me. They claimed they informed my doctor. I checked — they didn’t. I told them I would pay out of pocket. The rep updated the paperwork and said someone would call me to schedule. Weeks passed. No call. I followed up again, and they told me the referral still couldn’t be processed because the original referral had been under my old insurance. That was their excuse. I explained the situation again. Still no real explanation for why no one ever followed up with me. I told them I had Medi-Cal Blue Cross now. They said that should be fine and that they’d get it going. But again — nothing. Weeks went by. When I called back, they told me that yes, my new insurance was accepted — but again, they couldn’t process it because the original referral wasn’t under that plan. Completely absurd. I asked to speak with a supervisor. I explained everything. The person I spoke with pretended to take it seriously and said the supervisor would definitely call me after their meeting — and if they didn’t, she would call me herself. That was weeks ago. Still no call. This place has no system of accountability, no reliable communication, and apparently no concern for patients suffering while waiting. I’m still in pain, and still without care.
Over the past 25+years I have seen numerous doctors and specialists. The specialists at the Med Center are some of the best I have seen anywhere. I have 3 Neurology specialists and would not change them for anyone. At times the problems they have had to overcome have been insurmountable. Yes, at times we have had to try different treatments. Not all have worked; some have had side effects. The IS NOT their fault. It is just how my body has reacted. This is normal. Yes, I wish the first thing was a "Magic Bullet." Unfortunately, medicine, treatments seldom work that way. In my case, and most patients, we do not look for that "bullet," just management of our problem(s). My sincere thanks to the doctors, staff and support personnel at the Med Center and all you do and the "over the top" way you respect and treat us. UPDATE: March 31, 2025 These are some of the best and most caring professionals I have had the privilege to get to know. Doctors and staff have come and gone over the years, but the patient personal interaction has always first and foremost. Each has ALWAYS remembered that they are there to treat and serve the patient!
Best Dr and nurses I have ever had to help me with my epilepsy. They are all super helpful and very caring. Anytime I have an issue they are on it and do everything possible to solve the problem.
