From the moment I checked in at the front desk, through my multiple sleep studies, and everything after, the staff here has been so incredibly kind, helpful, responsive, and professional. I was having issues with the equipment company and my insurance claims, and Francis took so much extra time to help me get everything straightened out, even though it wasn't even her job or fault! She could've easily just passed me on to someone else, but kept following up until everything was resolved. I can't say enough great things about the staff here!
Had a sleep study and CPAP titration. Threatening to send me to collections unless I pay up, but "we don't send bills". Medicare paid, and I'm happy to pay my portion of the sleep study, but they won't send me a bill or invoice, they just want my credit card number. They billed Medicare and Medigap for 2 office visits using the credentials of a nurse practitioner I never saw! Too bad, as the techs and the docs were great.
I visited here a few months ago and waited until I saw a new doctor to see if how this practice operates is the norm - I found out it is not and I would not recommend this sleep center. Aside from Francis who sits up front and is absolutely amazing, everything else here is awful. My insurance stated that it was required for me to try and fail on an APAP machine prior to moving to a CPAP machine. The nurse absolutely refused to work with me or my insurance company, after scaring me and telling me that my AHI is so bad that I am at high risk of heart attack or stroke in my sleep if I don't receive treatment - then refused to provide me treatment. She told me that I have to see another doctor because she refuses to prescribe APAPs. After seeing another doctor and explaining the situation, I was quickly prescribed an APAP machine which I've now been using for over thirty days and is working wonderfully. The nurse here acts like she is an expert because of her years in practice, but she's unprofessional, unhelpful, and needs more training so people can receive the help they need. Not only did she not help me, she wasted 3 months of my time leading up to the decision to not help me, only for me to completely start the process over at another doctor. Lastly, they are outdated and only have paper files here, so if you want your medical records, you need to go pick up a physical file. In addition to this, the office and walls are paper thin, and while you're in the waiting room, you can hear the patient's conversation with the doctor very clearly - a violation of HIPAA laws. If you value your privacy, time, and health, I recommend seeing another doctor (the one in Odenton is great).
I was referred to America's Favorite Sleep Center several months ago. I received excellent care throughout the process. The front desk staff was always extremely polite and professional. I participated in two sleep analyses, and they did an excellent job of making me comfortable and explaining the process. The doc was very thorough and attentive, and he explained everything in great detail. After a couple of months, I decided that CPAP therapy was not for me. I discussed some other options with the doctor and we worked toward a personalized solution that would be more beneficial. They were caring and professional every step of the way. I would highly recommend America's Favorite Sleep Center to anyone looking for a sleep clinic.
The facility was clean and comfortable. My technician was fantastic! She made me feel very comfortable and was very patient with trying multiple CPAP masks that I could handle sleeping with through the night. My only complaint is the amount of time it takes to generate the reports for your Doctor to place the order for your CPAP equipment. I have been waiting 12 days for my report and only once it is received can I schedule an appointment with my Doctor to prescribe the equipment. It may end up taking me a month to receive my equipment at this rate. Apparently there is only one person that writes the reports and they are only there part-time. If you are like me and your OSA is in the extreme range and every night of sleep causes extreme anxiety I would recommend asking the sleep center for their standard practice of returning these reports before scheduling your appointment. In my opinion extreme OSA Patients should receive expedited service to ensure the their well-being.
