Sleep Disorder Center the Mid-Atlantic

So I was called on my first visit and said that the tech was sick 🤢 and that they would have to reschedule. Ok no problem. But them when it was time for the next visit sleep study I was Very sick with my crohn’s and fibromyalgia and there was no way I could 🛌 sleep cause I would be on the toilet and pain all night. But they did not accept this and want to charge me $250.00. Even though I was very understanding of their employee’s sickness and I had to change my date. But when it was me they were Not as understanding. How Wrong 😑 is this?!! Oh yes I’m fighting it.

We recently had to do a sleep study for my three year old daughter. After being contacted and given two options for appointments, we selected a weekend appointment because of our work schedules. The week leading up to the appointment, we had not received any paperwork or instructions, so we reached out to clarify. After much back and forth, we discovered they had scheduled us at a different location, but then canceled because there was no tech to complete a pediatric study. We luckily (if you can even say that) got our original appointment date, time, and location rescheduled. Again, I had to prompt for a confirmation email and any prep instructions. Very little information was given to us without constant asking and clarifying. When we arrived, there was no clear markings where the actual center was. It ended up being in the basement of a bank building, but there was no visible markings or signage to help indicate this. It was very unsettling being in the basement of an unmarked building, other offices covered in rubble and plastic from construction, and no indication that this was in fact a legitimate sleep center. The actual sleep center area was no better. It was cluttered with cleaning supplies, dirty blankets, trash from the items to be used for the study, and more. The room where the study was to be conducted was in no way inviting. Plastic folding chairs took up the middle of the room, and again it was a cluttered mess. The tech had absolutely no business working with children. He was harsh, unpleasant, and rough as he placed the equipment on my daughter. She was crying, yelling, and begging to leave, and he was not at all patient. We tried to calm her, but his rough demeanor and “jokes” about her hair getting ripped out did not ease the tension. We eventually got her calm enough to sleep. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. My husband was given sheets that were not clean to use in the recliner chair. We tried to tolerate everything as best as we could because this was necessary to complete, but this is no place to bring a child for a sleep study. I have spoken to the practice manager to express my concerns, and hope that the necessary changes will be made for future patients.

Horrible experience. I sat on a uncomfortable chair for an hour and a half before he started hooking me up. It was another hour before he was finished and I could try and sleep. Bed was very uncomfortable. Room felt like an office with a bed in it. Location is the basement of an office building. Once you get there you either try and go through with it or pay a cancellation fee. Doesn’t seem like a legitimate lab, more like something thrown together to make money.

Update: I have requested an official receipt several times with no response. A star will be lost each week I don't hear back. Appointment went very smoothly. Mohamed took the time to explain the process and what to expect. He was very personable and I felt at ease. He was also very attentive when I required assistance. Unfortunately, some elements of the room were not conducive to a great sleep; though they can be easily solved. I'd recommend bringing a pair of earplugs as the ventilation system was a bit noisy and bring a bottle of water since the air was very dry.

Technician was wonderful. Kind and knowledgeable, explained everything every step of the way. Personable which helped ease any worries. Room set-up well, nice clean bathroom. Only complaint was the mattress. Much too firm for me, back and shoulder hurt.
