I had a sleep study done here last April for a VA evaluation. The technician was very professional and explained every step along the way. The room was clean but I recommend bringing your own pillows and blankets.

I had a sleep study accomplished at this Vienna location in 2012, the facility was nice, the atmosphere and lighting were calming and the staff was great. The report I received was very detailed and I was surprised how in-depth the data their instruments turned out was. It didn't seem like that much data could be generated from the few connections attached to me. I was very appreciative of the insight the report provided. I would highly recommend this facility and staff.

I have been using CPAP since 1997, and had at least 5 sleep studies at different offices around the country. I can honestly say this was the worst experience I have ever had. The initial consult was virtual and perfunctory. Lasted all of 7 minutes. Despite my telling them that I was already diagnosed and being treated, they expressly said they did not want to see my medical records or the data from my CPAP machine. Insisted I needed to start from scratch with a whole new sleep study. (Claimed it was required by the insurance company.) It was initially scheduled for the wrong office (which I caught when I looked at the email they sent me). When I arrived for the study in Vienna, VA, the room was cold and somewhat dysfunctional (No light by the bed, doors that didn't work. trash still in the bathroom.) They insisted I not have a CPAP, despite my needing it to sleep... The room was so cold I couldn't sleep anyway. Got a blanket 1/2 way thru the night. At the end of the study I asked if the technician if he had seen Stage 3 or 4 sleep (including REM sleep) and he didn't know what I was talking about. When I called to ask about results, they told me that I could go ahead and get the titration study to set the CPAP pressure. (I had to ask...). Did the titration study, and had a repeat of the initial screening study (which I didn't need...). I got to pay copays for the initial consult and both sleep studies. It has now been 3 weeks since the titration study, and I still haven't heard anything from Sleep Disorder Centers. I called to see if I could get results and a prescription for a new CPAP machine, and I got sent to a voice mail. I have shared my experience with my Primary Care Physician. The PCP office has not heard anything either. They agree that they will not longer be referring patients to Sleep Disorders of the Mid-Atlantic. Be aware, that insurance companies as a rule will only pay for 1 sleep study every 5 years. So, in my case going elsewhere will cost me the full cost out of my pocket at this point. There are alternative providers for sleep disorder care. I would recommend you try them first.

It is shocking to see the negative ratings. My experience was wonderful. In the reviews below one critic was complaining about printing out a PDF, writing on paper, then not knowing how to scan and send an email. It is pretty ridiculous. There is also a sign that says "ring buzzer." It is locked because it is after 8PM and for security. The reviews are just absurd. My experience was professional. The testing was professional. The facilities are comfortable. Especially I slept amazing because I was in a sleep of study. I highly recommend this place. Professional, great staff, comfortable beds, accommodating room. I viewed it as a hotel stay.

This company did a terrible job every step of the way. First they neglected to inform me that a home study would not be as comprehensive as an in-office study. I did the home study. However, no one called me with results for three weeks. Only when I called was informed I would need to come in to do another. I did not find out until I came for the second study that it would be a split-night study. Again, I was not called with results. I was not permitted to sleep propped up or to use a bedside lamp to read, and, because of this, I had a great deal of trouble falling asleep. This meant that they could not do the split study. Again, I waited three weeks for results which meant that the year ended and I had to do the final study with the CPAP in the new year. This meant that I had to pay far more for the final study as I started my deductible again. Again, I had to ask and ask my doctor to get results from them regarding the study. They informed her that I had moderate apnea. Only when the company came with the machine did I discover I had mild apnea. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. I was deceived into multiple studies that cost me a great deal of money. If I could give zero or negative stars I would. If you have a choice, choose another company.
