I wonder if they read their reviews? I wonder if Joanne Williams still works there? I went here about 1 1/2- 2 years ago. I have surgery coming up and I was trying to remember when and where I went because I want to tell the Dr and nurses about my condition, I also was treated poorly by Joanne Williams and now my condition is getting worse. I wake up gasping for air , which is very scary. I also don't think they used the correct terms or codes when she/they put it through my insurance. I was told my insurance ewould not cover the study. I hope Joanne is no longer working there, she should be ashamed of the way she treats and talks to patients. When I called for my appointment I was just happy to see someone and get my foot in the door, now I wish I had actually seen the doctor in charge.
I was in the hospital for a week with a severe lung infection. Released without much detail but a supply of oxygen, steroids, a bi-pap and advice that I see a pulmonologist for further analysis and guidance. The most recommended had no availability for months out, Dr. Ventresca's office gave me an appointment in mid-May, about a month. I arrived and had a brief visit with PA Joanne- the rudest, most dismissive and snarly woman I have ever encountered in a healthcare setting. Truly astonishing. This is mid-May. I leave with an appointment for a breathing test on July 21. 2+ months out. I am obviously anxious to understand where I am with my illness and what I should expect/prepare for my future. But I'm told by other professionals that due to a shortage of specialists this is not an uncommonly long wait. TODAY I received a form letter from the office, with my name spelled incorrectly (minor - but given everything still insulting) advising me that unfortunately I will have to re-schedule my July 21st appointment and they are "so sorry for the inconvenience". It is shameful how folks are treated by this practice.
Well, I read the horror stories/reviews just prior to leaving home to do my first on site sleep study! I just wanted to get in and get it over since it takes some time to get an appointment! My time at the sleep center was GREATT! When I say GREATT, I mean from time I walked in front door, Michelle was very pleasant and respectful! Gave GREATT instructions! I like the room! I loved the bathroom! THE BED WAS SUPER COMFORTABLE! I could use more pillows though to prop myself up. The one I brought was not enough! The 2 on bed was not enough! I can’t sleep flat! I feel I’m choking! Room was like a nice hotel! I wish I knew what to bring! Since I went paperless a few months ago, I don’t receive letter mail anymore. Maybe instructions on what to expect and what to bring came in mail and I didn’t get it! I did tell person I made appointment with I would come in 15 minutes early to do paperwork! I just want to say again the memory foam bed was very very nice! Better than my bed at home! I was most uncomfortable with the some 50 wires connected to my head, face, legs, neck ! I couldn’t sleep on my stomach like I like to! Room was like a hotel! Carpet needs cleaning! Overall I have no real complaints about the sleep center! Thanks Michelle!
Saw PA Joanne Williams at Niagara Pulmonary. I have never been treated so poorly by a doctor or provider in my entire life. Not by a long shot. It was surreal. I came in to receive guidance and care for difficulty-sleep disorder. Joanne Williams was combative from the onset walking in and telling me to sit in another chair. Not politely ask but told me to sit here. She was more concerned with where I was sitting in the patient room and how I was wearing my mask then providing me care. As the appointment continued she was not explaining herself, was dismissive when asked questions by the patient, was almost intending to be rude, at times she was flat out insulting when responding to questions such as “Yeah I was going to get to that” or “I answered that already”. She kept talking over the patient, did not listen to my responses, and treated me with complete disdain. We werent even halfway through the appointment when I just walked out. Something I have never even thought of doing before when seeking care. I honestly wouldnt trust this place to remove a sliver. Couldn’t believe how poorly a patient seeking care was treated here. Its shocking. I hope this is an outlier bad doctor and not a sign of the direction our healthcare system is headed.
I have gone here once because of a continued cough and lung issue. I went for blood work since the doctor had no idea what else to recommend. As time went by I called 4 times for my results and they told me I had to wait for my next appointment which was months away. The last time I called they told me I didn't call the 1st times even though I spoke with office staff and left messages. They argued with me how I never called brfor4 and insinuated I was a liar - even though I had the phone records. As I write this I still don't have my blood results.
