Mia was an excellent sleep study technician but her apparent supervisor was horrible. Be sure to read the email instructions you receive from “NorthSleep” a month prior to your appointment or you’ll be chastised and belittled for not ringing the doorbell. I get dozens of emails daily that are spam and would have expected to receive instructions for entering the building from UCHealth a few days prior to the appointment. The door was open, so I went in and went to the sleep study area. After ringing the doorbell twice to no avail, I knocked a few times without anyone coming to the door. So I firmly knocked again, and Mia‘s supervisor came to the door and chastised me for not ringing the doorbell outside. I asked if I had received an email regarding the doorbell and she said yes when I made the appointment. The email didn’t come from UCHealth but Northsleep so I never read it. It came a month prior to the appointment. Anyway she was like a dog with a bone and wouldn’t let go with the fact that I didn’t ring the doorbell. Horrible start to the night. Why not just send instructions from a UCHealth email address a few days before the appointment?
Performance was totally unacceptable. First two hours were wasted due to equipment misusage. It was me who understood the problem and the solution. Was operator error, but the root cause was not the technician, but inadequate training. Even after correction, mask leakage problems were not understood and totally wrong advice given that would have invalidated the study. I think this facility is simply a revenue source and not a medical facility.
Nikki was awesome!! She accommodated every request I had so I could sleep as comfortably as I could (in spite of being all wired up!). She was very personable and attentive. She was awesome at explaining the process along the way. The facility itself is spotless and very comfortable, including the bed, which was heavenly. I highly recommend this facility for anyone needing an overnight sleep study.
I would have given NO stars but was forced to give 1. I regularly sleep from 2am to 11am. I was told to wear the monitor for a minimum of 6.5 hours. I was told to return the equipment BY 9 am. In order to wear it long enough I went to bed at midnight. TWO hours EARLIER than my normal. I could NOT go to sleep. I finally got 3.5 hours of sleep. Miserable night. They told me I could sleep at my OWN schedule but then require me to return the equipment by 9am which is not when I am even awake. They are dealing with patients with sleep problems and forced me to adhere to a waking time that is not normal for me. AWFUL! Allow me to return the equipment later in the day.
Edit: I called the number suggested below and since it seems to be the canned response that they provide for bad reviews. I'll just let everyone know that the people who you speak to there are of no help. I don't normally leave reviews, but the experience I've had here was awful and it will result in me not getting future medical exams out of fear that a similar situation might happen. It was suggested to me by my primary care physician that I get a sleep study because my smart watch indicated that I might gave sleep apnea. He went ahead and referred me to this clinic. I got a phone call from this office telling me to watch videos that they would send me by email, and I scheduled an "appointment" through that call. Appointment is in quotes because it can hardly be called that. I went to the office and had someone spend five total minutes explaining how to use the at home sleep test. The entirety of that explanation was already in the videos they provided me so not only was that visit short it was completely unnecessary. They also explained to me that when I was done with the study I had to return the device to a box outside the office by 9 am in the morning, continuing the lack of any interaction. I had the device for one night (basically renting a device that should not have costed anyone more than 300 dollars total), met one person for about five minutes, all to be told through a message on the UC health app that I shouldn't sleep on my back at night. I was billed two separate times totalling $1000. I have never had a medical diagnostic that felt like more of a scam than this one. It will result in me avoiding future exams.
