The front desk staff throughout the various clinics were less than welcoming. Also I have 50 years of blood pressure being taken but I have never experienced such pain in my arm; it was from the bp cuff by what looked like an experienced triage nurse (who appeared rushed off her feet). Had to request the cuff to be removed. Dr. Mekonnen was great and he almost made up for the rushed factory-like atmosphere of the clinic.

Everyone is courteous and professional. My doctors are always on time. And they take the time to explain issues, as well as answers my questions. I am so happy with Dr. Mekonnen. Thank you so much for believing me that my spleen injury occurred during one of my sleep walking events (because most doctors don’t)!

I went into the institute to get an initial consultation. The staff at the counter was grumpy and brief (the admins) but the nurse and doctor behind the door doing the work were nice I liked them. But 2 days after the appointment I received a bill for twice as much as I was quoted. When I called billing they said changed the code to a severe case. When she listed off all of the reasons that the consultation could turn into a severe case vs mild sleep case there were no criteria that could justify why they changed the code and charged me double for the initial consultation. They also just told me I could change the payment form but they just went ahead and charged the card within 7 days without giving me a chance to resolve the issue or talk to my insurance. They might has well just had me turn in my wallet full of money at the front desk because they will just take any amount of money they want and made ZERO effort to help resolve the issue. They ask for a credit card at the front desk so beware this is so they can charge you right away for whatever service they fell like billing. Don't be fooled like I was.

Aside from m the pushy front desk staff, I had a no nonsense straight to the point and amazing experience. Dr. Mekonnen was thorough and nice. The sleep center staff, namely Monica, was very nice and professional! The turn around time from initial evaluation to the time I received my CPAP machine was less than 3 weeks! Would highly recommend if you can set your expectations of the front staff aside.

Extremely rude and pushy staff. The entire staff looks and acts like they were recruited from a redneck trailer park. Dr. Mekonnen hardly spoke and barely made eye contact with me while I was in the room. He stared at his computer the whole time. It was uncomfortable and felt perfunctory. Nobody would tell me the prices of services. Their services will make you feel like you are being taken advantage of, therefore, I neither trust nor have faith in them. This place is a factory and treats its patients as ticks on a box. I recommend Sibley or JH. Look for more reviews by googling Rockville Internal Medicine Group.
