Recent surgery with Dr Davis could not have been any better anywhere else. Shout out to Dionne, Arlie, Jan and Maylayla on the 6th floor. These nurses were outstanding, kind, patient, caring and just plain nice. My care at Jackson Hospital was superb! Our community needs to do whatever they can to keep this hospital and their outstanding staff.

My son went to the ER almost 1 month ago on 11/19 for bad back pain. The nurse, doctor, and radiologists treated him so wonderfully! Better than I could have asked. I am so glad they listened to my concerns. They helped me find cancer in my son. They first suspected lymphoma but now it seems everything points to a germ cell tumor. We are still waiting for pathology results. I would have never known if they didn't listen to me like the last hospital. They were so kind to us and gave us a wonderful start to our experience in this journey.

My job requires me to sit with autistic patients, and today I had the privilege of sitting with a non-verbal patient in the ED. What I witnessed from the staff was nothing short of amazing. From the moment I arrived, they were there every step of the way, showing patience, compassion, and genuine kindness. Several nurses even went out of their own pockets to buy him fidget toys, and one nurse DoorDashed him nearly $80 worth of items just to help make him comfortable. You don’t see that kind of dedication often, and it truly meant a lot. In ED triage, Erin was his nurse and did an incredible job, and Chelsea was absolutely phenomenal—she went above and beyond in every way. We also had Misty, Jennifer, and James, who all played a huge part in making the experience so positive. And even though Allie wasn’t directly involved in his care, she checked on me often to make sure I had food, snacks, and anything else I needed. The entire team was compassionate, attentive, and genuinely invested in his well-being. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. This group of people truly embodies what healthcare should look like.

I have not had any issues with the nursing staff at Jackson hospital, as they have always been kind and professional. However, the staff at the reception desk have been extremely disappointing. I have never encountered a group of receptionists who were so consistently unprofessional and disrespectful. They have been dismissive, unwilling to answer basic questions, and their attitude has made visiting my mother—already a difficult and emotional experience—much more distressing than it should be. I sincerely hope the hospital administration addresses this issue and ensures that visitors are treated with the courtesy and respect they deserve.

I'd like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the remarkable team at Jackson Hospital Emergency Room, including Dr. Richard Sample, RN Mackenzie, RN Hannah, and Cardiologist Dr. Darryl Hamilton, who delivered extraordinary care to my non-verbal autistic son. Despite visits to Baptist East ER, Children's in Birmingham ER, and Children's Hospital in Birmingham, it was Jackson Hospital that truly rose to the challenge and provided the attention he needed. Amidst the scrutiny, I firmly believe that shuttering this facility would be a grave mistake, as the compassion and dedication exhibited by its staff surpasses that of many other hospitals in the area. Their tireless efforts are a testament to the power of genuine care, and l'm compelled to express my deepest appreciation. Keep Up the Great Work !!
