The communication was terrible from the moment the scheduled surgery time was changed. The surgery was originally scheduled for 9:45 am, but it was rescheduled to 1:15 pm at 5:15pm the night before. This change was due to a faulty light bulb. Despite this, the pre-surgical prep of not eating after midnight remained unchanged. There was no follow-up communication via text or email about the time change. I was told that if I didn’t answer the phone call, I would have discovered the new schedule when I arrived at the hospital at 7:15 am. I understand obstacles occurred but follow up writing communication should occur also. Nursing staff was great. While using the nurse call button and talking to someone that seemed disassociated with the job position they were hired to do was very frustrating when trying to get a nurse in the unit. Almost like call button staff were in a different building. After having 3 elementary school cafeteria meals, I was ready to go home.

I went in for pre op lab and to speak with the nurse. I couldnt pee at the lab was given a cup with a plastic bag and a brown bag. Was told if I had to pee later to tell them up front and they will call and the lab will come get it. Come get it, cause im there to have a hip replaced and its hard to walk the long distance. The lab was looking out for me. The women in front, did not care. I was told well, just take it down there, I explained the hip issue, oh, let me call. The lab tech showed up and I was in the middle of explaining it to him, when a rude old women came up and interrupted me with questions. Did you register? Yes, I was already at... do you have an order? I just decided to walk out. If you cant shut up and listen, im not wasting my time. Idk if they got my pee and dont care. They need to get rid of rude people if they want customers. Im a big NKC hospital person, this will be my first surgery in any other hospital in this area. Let's see how the rest of their staff is. North kansas city hospital is always great! Always!

I went to the Breast center at Menorah. The receptionist are amazing and kind. My technician was not. She has lost compassion and the ability to listen to her patient. IF I go back for future mammograms I will make sure I have someone else to do my mammogram. Also, felt like a number Menorah brings you back in twos and you wait in a gown with others in another separate waiting room for technicians to come and get you. Other places I have been to you get one on one private settings, not rushed through like numbers. Private settings not grouped together are much more private and you feel like you matter, not next!!! Raise your standards Menorah!

I received excellent care at Menorah Hospital for the 1st procedure I required. Never been there before so very skeptical. Unfortunately I had to have a second medical procedure. This time, I requested Menorah, because of the excellent care I received before. Three years later I required a 3rd procedure and I selected Menorah Hospital for my care. Excellent care was provided yet again. Thank you for providing the perfect environment for me to recuperate from several major procedures. In my experience, excellent care is key to full recovery.

The day before my colon surgery 9/29 the prep sent me into the ER in excruciating pain. I had one nurse tell me that the Dr. would be in after he’s done with people who are actually dying and I had another nurse tell me that I needed to be more patient and wait. This was after an hour. Her attitude made me feel uncomfortable so I let them know I’d like to go to a different hospital and without question she brought in a paper for me to sign stating that I am refusing medical advice. Odd that the Dr came in just a few minutes later. I had surgery next day and had to deal with the same type of treatment. Nurses not wanting to give me pain meds day after surgery and having to coach them into doing what was best for me. At least the next day the nurse came in to apologize. I need to have another surgery to reverse my ostomy and if I can, I want to go elsewhere. Thank you to the nurses that show kindness and compassion as I know it is not everyone but, if you are being paid to CARE and you find it hard to do, shame on you. Do better. I know there are challenges that you face but I am not one of them. Sadly, many of my friends have this same experience here. I went back in for a CT scan due to an open wound around my stoma and because the Ostomy nurse was wiping my wound so aggressively. Because I refused to stay the nurse jokingly mentioned me faking pain. No, I’m never going to willingly stay at this place. There was no reason to admit me anyway. If I can manage my pain at home, that’s what I will do. Several years ago my colon issues sent me here and they admitted me but refused pain meds. I took the IV out of my arm left without discharge papers. Unfortunately I get sent here from other doctors. I would never willingly come here.
