I had to switch my PCP due to insurance change at work, and found Dr. Shefa Kani. I had the best experience with her, and am really thankful I found her. She made me feel so comfortable and assured me I'm on the right track with my health.

Every time I schedule to see my primary or gastroenterologist, I am always passed off to a PA who rushes through appointments, literally doesnt even physically examine me even when I have a specific complaint, or is just completely dismissive. I always have a battery of expensive tests or a battery labs ordered that never produce a diagnosis. I've been suffering with severe gastrointestinal symptoms for 10 years for no resolution in sight. I guess I am just supposed to live the rest of my life feeling sick and in pain and miserable.... I have completely lost trust in medical professionals.

First experience at Henry Ford Columbus Center at 12 Mile in Novi was Excellent! Early morning appointment with Dr. White in Sports Medicine and despite the wee hour everyone was friendly and very helpful. The site was clean, parking was a breeze and everything was easy to find. Sports Medicine is on the first floor beside the Security Station and Elevators. I didn’t need them this time because everything was so easily accessible for us, but was grateful to see the abundant amount of wheelchairs accessible for use if needed for patients with difficulty walking. We came for a knee injury and thought we may need it, but we were close enough that we managed without. However, k owing they were there relieved a lot of anxiety as we managed a new facility. Can’t say enough about Dr. White! LOVED her and if you just have to go to a doctor, which is never preferred especially first thing in the morning, she made it all easier. Smooth process. Very nice facility and everyone was friendly and helpful. Highly recommend if you have to choose Columbus as your closest Henry Ford Provider!

My friend went to Henry Ford Medical Center - Columbus, and has been billed $672 for routine testing. They need to re-code the tests and re-submit them to insurance, which shouldn't require any client intervention at all, but they did not do that. I have been calling on my friend's behalf, we have submitted their ROI (release of information) for them to be able to talk to me, and they can't locate the ROI, and still will not discuss the bill with me, in spite of doing exactly what they required. A patient should not have to fight a $672 bill for routine testing in the first place, and here we are trying to rectify it and can't even get anyone to help. This is a really poor way to serve clients. Highly disappointed.

Today, I contacted office regarding urgent medical attention for significant swelling on my face. I was advised to come in at a specific time today, and I followed those instructions precisely even driving 1 hour and 30 minutes in pain to reach the hospital. However, upon arrival, I was told that no appointment had been fixed. Instead, I was offered an appointment three weeks later, which is entirely unacceptable given the urgency of my condition. This experience was extremely disappointing and distressing. I lost valuable time, energy, and fuel, and my medical issue remains unresolved. A simple "sorry" cannot account for the lack of coordination and the emotional and physical toll this has taken. This is not what I expect from a responsible and caring medical service. I request that immediate attention be given to my condition, and that the matter of today's miscommunication and mishandling be looked into seriously.
