Sleep and Wake Disorders Center

I don’t get why the ratings are so low from others, but we had a very positive experience here. My daughter had a sleep study here, and the staff Elenor was very polite and profession with me. Room is clean and simple. That 8: completely normal. After all this is a medical facility, not a hotel! She was so patient prep my daughter and explain to her about her sleep test.

Scheduled an appointment weeks ago, arrived on time for appointment, and was told my appointment was cancelled. Communication prior to WASTING MY TIME GETTING READY TO HAVE A HORRIBLE NIGHT IN SOME CLINIC TO SHOW UP FOR NOTHING would have been nice. Definition of incompetence. Updated to 3 stars as my recent scheduled appointment with Dr. Manzlak was a very good experience. There office staff were very helpful and polite and the appointment was very efficient. This experience was 4 to 5 star worthy which updated my overall experience to 3.

I am the caregiver of an autistic adult, and I am disgusted by the way they have treated him and his appointment. He stops breathing at night and has to have someone check on him regularly to make sure he doesn't die, he is scared to death, etc. His doctor wanted two tests done, one sleep study, and one study for narcolepsy. Because of two tests, he was scheduled 6 months out... half a year for someone special needs who is not breathing at night! Then the doctor cancelled the second test without consulting with his doctor, without letting us know, without discussing possibly scheduling sooner because it would only be one test... and then he was turned away at the appointment he had been desperate to go to for 6 months now. The poor guy has spent hours crying because he is sure is going to die and nobody cares. We have decided to go to VCU, because this kind of behavior is unacceptable.

The review is on the technician. I took my 3 year old in for a sleep study and Zoran( Hope I spelt it right) was very pleasant and patient with him. He took the time to explain what he was doing and even answered my toddler questions. The room was clean and a decent size but I would recommend bringing a comforter from home. It was padded with extra sheet put we brought our own throw.

I wish I could give a review of their facility, but they canceled on me twice and the second time was 5 hours before the sleep study was supposed to start. When you have to take off work and prep a five year old for a sleep study this is unacceptable. The staff did not care at all. I encourage everyone to find another sleep center. I will try to encourage my pediatrician to longer refer patients to them.
