I was in for outpatient surgery. The check-in procedure was oddly like entering a fortress, with security and scanning etc. The registration office was a bit makeshift in feeling. But once I got upstairs this the second floor the staff, service, and operating facilities could not have been better. Every nurse, staff physician, and aid that I came into contact with could not have been more helpful or solicitous. My post-op nurse Patricia was truly extraordinary. My pre-op nurse was also remarkable though I am struggling to remember her first name. I am still in a little bit of a post anesthesia fog. So the second floor gets a five-star review and the first floor gets a three-star review. So the result is a four-star review!

I came here once before and unfortunately didn’t have the best experience with the nurse I had, so I was skeptical about coming back. I’m really glad I gave it another chance. The wait was long, but I expected that with the holidays coming up. The nurses and ER doctors were incredibly kind, patient, and understanding of my condition. Sitting in the ER for 7 hours definitely wasn’t fun, but the staff did everything they could to make me comfortable. I really appreciate the level of care I received this time around.

UPDATE #2: I called the patient advocate to review my father’s case because obviously when his situation goes from hospice, then to be transferred to another hospital that can care for his condition (there was no oncologist in the building while he was admitted) to ICU all in the same day (nothing further had progressed or any additional incidents) and the ICU doctor tells you that there should have been no conversation about transfer, then obviously communication is seriously wrong. Everyone came back after memorial day, did their own individual jobs, and I was left confused and traumatized. I was hung up on multiple times by the patient advocates. The “review letter” contained more inconsistencies than his medical records, and had statements that are easily disproven through his lab work. I was told that I had “interpretation issues” and I was hung up on again. If the patient advocates don’t care about the patients, and the doctors surely don’t either, I am very afraid for people who come there with no family or someone else to advocate for their care. When the person called me to tell me my father had passed, I asked what the next step was because I have never done this before. They told me it was to “wrap him up and put him in the morgue”. I find it very funny that they only comment on the positive reviews, and want nothing to do with the negative ones. How about you take families seriously NYP? Let’s not forget the red carpet event they were holding at the front entrance while people were dying in the hospital… UPDATE: if you bring a loved one here, make sure you check the MyChart regularly. The workers consistently lie, document incorrectly, and let my father suffer in pain. He passed away alone at 2 o’clock in the morning, after I told them multiple times he did not want to die in the hospital. All the doctors lied to our faces. Everyone had a different story, and now I’m burying my father. And there’s legally nothing I can do. They treated me and my family like garbage, literally leaving garbage on him for us to come in upon. Also make sure you don’t bring a family member on a holiday weekend. They will just let your loved one’s health decline until their three day weekend is over. If I was basing my rating solely on the 4th floor crew. It would be 5 stars. However, the Emergency Room at night is a nightmare. I brought my father in, and he, what we know now was aspirating in the waiting room and couldn’t breathe. I told the woman at the desk if they could get someone to look at him…nothing….i asked again, I wasn’t even asking to go in the back. I was asking for a nurse or someone to look at him….nothing…on the third try all I got was attitude from the ladies behind the desk. The female security guard was circling me like a criminal because I’m obviously upset at this point. The security guard told me “if I was so concerned, I should have brought him by ambulance”. One of the girls behind the desk was mouthing off “I don’t know what she wants me to do” I said I want you to get a doctor, he stopped breathing! I have never been insulted or treated with less compassion in my life. When we finally got to the back, no one looked at him for 2 hours. I thought the nurse who took his blood was a tech. She never introduced herself as the nurse for the evening. The MyChart app said the doctor on call was an Audiologist?!?. Even after he fell in the bathroom, no one checked on his status. The triage nurse put incorrect information for the visit notes, so no one actually did anything about the reason we came here until the Admission Doctor came into the room 8 hours later. After 10 hours, he was moved to a room upstairs. The only issue I had upstairs was with a CNA whom when asked her name (because unlike everyone else, never introduced herself) told us to “look at the board”. I called the patient advocate line and she was switched out right away. Still don’t know what her name was.

This hospital is terrible!!! Don't waste your time. Emergency room here is a hotel waiting room. Understaffed rude sarcastic staff with no care in this world. All my kids were born at the previous Lawerence and the service was AMAZING. Now this place is trash . My daughter in pain screaming and we been here for 2 hrs . Terrible. Also this ER packed and no one being taken care off.

I’ve been to dozens and dozens of hospitals across many states over the years, including renowned cancer wards and specialty centers. But NewYork-Presbyterian/Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville, NY stands out as the most exceptional medical facility I’ve ever encountered — start to finish. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was met with genuine warmth and professionalism. Security greeted me with smiles. The triage and ER teams were efficient, kind, and compassionate. The entire admission process was smooth, respectful, and deeply human. Every person I came across radiated positive energy and care. I’ll be honest — I can be a bit much. I’ve got a strong personality, sometimes a little overbearing, a little extra. But never once did anyone make me feel like I didn’t belong or needed to tone it down. They embraced me exactly as I was. They allowed me to heal in my own way — emotionally, spiritually, and physically. And I’m not being dramatic when I say: they literally loved me back to health. Now, let me give flowers where they’re due: Kathryn — my nurse, my rock. You were the anchor through all of this. You weren’t just skilled and attentive — you were kind, present, and overflowing with compassion. I’ll never forget what you did for me. To Vanessa, Caroline, Bernie and Kavita — thank you for your care, your laughs, and the peace you brought with every visit. You turned routine medical care into something meaningful. Jonathan and Dmitri — thank you for taking care of my leg with professionalism and calm. You made even the uncomfortable stuff easy. And Ramon in the ER — you were the first face I saw, and you set the tone. Your energy, your kindness, your readiness to help — it stayed with me the whole way through. There are just too many names to list, but every single person here had an impact. Whether it was medical staff, food service, cleaning crew, or administration — everyone moved with purpose, empathy, and heart. This place doesn’t just treat illnesses. They treat people. And they do it better than anywhere I’ve ever been.
