I waited over two hours for my 5 year old to be seen. I told them to take my child’s name off the list because we were leaving. The lady at the front desk said let me check where the name is. She told me we would be called next and I saw her ask the lead nurse or whoever and she confirmed it. We sat and waited for about 25 more minutes. Another person that worked in there came up to me and even said y’all should have been in the back, I heard them say yall were next. The wait time is horrible

Visited the lab for a blood draw today as a walk-in, first experience at the location and with Sentara. I am PTSD regarding needles due to an event 61 years ago. Reception was kind, considerate and charming, reminding me of the brunette girl from the old show "The Wonder Years" (Danica McKellar. I cheated and looked it up). She let me babble on about wanting someone really experienced, as i've heard too many stories about patients thinking their phlebotomist was seeming more like playing a game of darts or pin the tail on the donkey with their arm instead of getting it right the first time - this was a new facility for me and i was apprehensive. Her compassion was the first major step at putting me more at ease. I took a seat and waited, but before i could fiddle much with my phone i was called in and lead to a secondary area just outside the exam room (in my mind, "the execution room"). Soon down the hallway came another charming lady with a sweet smile. I figured this certainly can't be my executioner, she appears far too nice. But she was! Well, if it's gotta happen i'm much happier with someone smiling than a nurse who is raging mad because they were just served divorce papers or the like, just waiting for someone to take it out on. She listened to me drone on, absolutely no rush - just kind attention - went into the room, got everything ready and then called me in. I got all comfy in a really big recliner then she began prepping my arm. At one point she stopped prepping and i thought "Could the needle already be in??? No, i didn't even feel a prick." so i looked over and there it was sending blood into the vial. That part i don't have much issue with, it is that which my brain classifies as the "assault stage" that evokes the extreme issue. There it was and i was still alive. Her name is Erika, and in case my brain wobbled or that there might be more than one Erika, she has a little heart tattooed just below her neckline. Best treatment i have EVER had and what a great starting experience with these folks. I'm sure there will be more, i've only had one heart attack to date, and their main location, roughly 11 minutes from home given clear traffic, is actually a LEVEL 1 Trauma Center - those are rare! Few and far between. I respect the input of all those before me; i believe that they did experience unfortunate circumstances and truthfully, i didn't go through the hospital side. I only hope that perhaps what i experienced represents a cultural change that is throughout the organization. I also know that sometimes hospitals can get very busy. They try to be pleasant, but folks can get overworked, held over for extended shifts, and might not have time for pleasantries for they are trying to think five steps into the future to save lives. All i know is that my experience was above great, they were outstanding.

Holloween morning, I woke expecting to travel to DC. I woke to excruciating pain in my right flank. I debated ambo,er or urgent care. I knew Urgent care was not going to suffice. I chose Belle Harbor as my primary is at the medical facility. I experienced nothing but swift and professional handling . From security and triage and check in. From arrival around 9am to being taken in the er.i was given competent professional care. Labs and ct scan. Everyone were able to tey and keep me comfortable. Dr Welch diagnosed me eith what I suspected. Appendicitis. He was quick to contact Sentara Obici and arrange my ambo and surgery. By 1p I was transferred and prepping for appendectomy. I can't thank the nurses enough for also bring kind friendly and professional.

My experience with this emergency department was profoundly disappointing and raises significant concerns regarding patient care standards. The clinical staff appeared dismissive and failed to conduct an adequate assessment despite the presence of concerning symptoms, including an inability to stand or ambulate without assistance. Rather than pursuing appropriate diagnostic evaluation, the encounter was prematurely terminated with generalized statements such as, “It may just be [xyz], follow up with your primary care provider.” Such an approach demonstrates a lack of thoroughness and disregard for the patient’s acute condition. An emergency department’s fundamental responsibility is to identify and stabilize potentially serious medical issues. In this instance, that responsibility was neglected. I would strongly recommend a comprehensive review of triage, evaluation, and discharge protocols to ensure that future patients receive the attentive and evidence-based care expected in an emergency setting.

I visited here Saturday evening, 10/18 around 10pm. I was seen very quickly and McKenna and Zoey were extremely professional, knowledgeable and friendly. They both made me feel as physically comfortable and mentally/emotionally at ease as was possible during my visit. I would absolutely recommend this facility to others.
