The team answering phones for this department are always unnecessarily rude and condescending. As someone who works in customer service, it's so draining having to deal with potential rudeness from customers only to have to deal with rudeness and microaggressions from the staff who are supposed to be providing medical care and assistance.
I was originally scheduled to wait 3 months for my sleep study but since I asked to be on the cancellation list they got me in 2 weeks! The facility was super clean and everyone was so nice and respectful when placing electrodes on me. It was also very quiet and homey in the room. My ONLY complaint is the wait time for results. It’s been a month now and still nothing. When I call they just tell me 4-6 weeks wait due to being short staffed. Long story short: people great but long wait times to get results.
Y'all need to hire some people to answer the d@mn phones! Seriously. Multiple reviews already have stated the same. It's absolutely absurd to function this way. Patients cannot call and get a person to schedule their study. They call you to schedule, and if you happen to step away from your phone for a second, you're out of luck. You can call back immediately, and it'll go to voicemail. Then you have to wait another few days to weeks for them to call you back. Better not miss them, as I have, or this cycle continues repeatedly. We have jobs and things to do, we can't sit by the phone constantly. It's a huge waste of time. Not to mention that the earliest appointments are always a month or more out. Also, they tell you to call them with questions, but I've left them two separate voicemails with questions over the last 4 months and they've never answered either. So, that's cool. I thought Vanderbilt was supposed to be high quality? It's honestly kind of traumatic. We're sleep-deprived and strugglng, please make this easier on us. :(
Tech was great, made us feel very comfortable. The only issues I have are that when we scheduled the appointment, we received a letter stating that appts are always overbooked and are on a first come, first serve basis. Then what is the point of an appointment? So we got there early. Door will not open until 7pm so we had to wait in the hall. We were not the only ones. Room was perfect, very comfortable, private and like I said, tech was very nice, helpful and made us feel at ease. Wake up time was early of course, but we did not feel rushed. The other issue I have is that the parking for the sleep clinic is in an parking lot kind of behind the hotel. So you have to walk at night and super early morning to the front of the hotel. Which is fine in good weather. Not so fine when it is freezing, or if you have a small baby, like we saw there as well. Other than those two things, our experience was great!
Absolute pure incompetence when trying to schedule. No one EVER answers the phone. I've been trying for 3 weeks to get in touch with someone. I've left several messages and when they do finally call back I'm usually in a meeting and then I call them back and guess what? Voice Mail. They have sent me a letter saying that I haven't scheduled with them. Yes! I know! It's because I can't get in touch with them. Very frustrating. And they want to pop my insurance company over 5k for one sleep study and I have to pay a large part of that course for horrendous service. You can keep your name Vanderbilt, but you need to do something about your "world class" sleep study.
