I am very pleased with this medical facility in Ocala, FL. Dr. Axel is a very professional doctor with excellent chairside manners and listens to your concerns. I've also observed Laurie at front desk treating patients with much respect and courtesy. Overall, the entire staff are pleasant. I'm happy to be in the care of this medical practice that doesn't make me feel like just a number.

If I could leave a 0 star review, then I would. SIMED Health has drained me over the years both mentally and emotionally. I am so tired of not being able to see my PCP because he can't stop taking on new patients and see the ones that he already has! Within the 5+ years that I have been with SIMED Health, I have seen my actual PCP maybe 2 times. When I got used to seeing someone else in the office, she moved to High Springs 4/5 days of the week. This is recent, so that's why I have been with them for so long. While on the phone scheduling an appointment, I received no notification of this, and the support staff just scheduled the appointment for High Springs! Now I don't have anyone to see in the office and have to find a new primary care office to go to when I've been going here for over over 5 years! I also got tired very quickly of having to tell the support staff what my copay is every time I went in for an appointment when it clearly states it on my insurance card, but yet they would come back and tell me that it's something else (double what it really is). When I was seen in the OBGYN's office they were incredibly unprofessional with leaving the door to my room open after leaving for me to get dressed. When checking out the Receptionist told me to hold on while she was speaking to another employee about something non-work related. I don't know why that surprised me after all that I'd already experienced within this place. After giving them a few chances to see if I was overreacting, I learned that I was not, and I wrote to the office to share my feelings about all of this. Shortly after, I received a letter from the OBGYN releasing me as a patient. Being the only OBGYN in the office, there was no one else in the office that I could see, so I had to find somewhere else to go when I was going to SIMED for everything before (primary care, neurologist, labs, imaging). Now for the cherry on top: A couple of days ago I received a letter in the mail from a collections agency stating that SIMED Health sent me to them because of a payment from an appointment about 6 months ago that I never paid for. If I owed this, then I would absolutely pay for it, but SIMED Health never sent me a bill in the mail or even called me about this, and I checked my patient portal about 20 times within the last 6 months to include the Billing page, and the Balance was ALWAYS $0.00. I have had several incidents with billing at SIMED Health throughout the years. I absolutely do NOT recommend going to SIMED Health.

The dr and pa’s and nurses are all excellent but trying to deal with the office staff is the worst. The drs say just call we will get you in but the ladies answering the phone will repeatedly say no openings and refer you to Simed’s urgent care. They are not even nice about turning you away! I had to change my insurance so I no longer need referrals, it was nearly impossible to get someone on the phone. Now I get less money on my food assistance because of the change. Very frustrating

If you enjoy dealing with the rudest most dysfunctional and unprofessional front office staff, then this is the place for you. However, Dr. Colberg and one of the nurses are great … I’d give them 5 stars.

I am leaving a 2 star review due to the difficulty of getting any and all referrals that I needed in order to see specialist, as well as the treatment I received over the phone multiple times. I have a severe medical case, and I need to see specialist frequently. When I first came SiMed I was very happy with the office staff that checked me in, the nurses were very sweet, and Dr.Demori is amazing. Unfortunately working with the division manger is nearly impossible and has been the cause of me seeking for new PCP. At first it was impossible to get in contact with them, once I figured out how to it was still extremely difficult to communicate to them, feel heard and understood, and have any actions take place. I was denied referrals FOUR too many times. Due to this issue I went a found care from a new PCP, in hopes that the new office will take me and my medical needs seriously (as a doctors office should). I would not recommend SiMed health if you are someone who needs frequent referrals, someone with a severe medical case, someone who likes to be treated with respect and dignity, and anyone who likes their doctors office to take them and their care seriously. If you are someone who likes/needs those things then SiMed is NOT for you. It truly was devastating to be treated this way, and constantly denied the referrals for the medical care that I needed MONTHS AGO. Because of the difficulties I have faced with SiMed, my quality of life has decreased as I have not been able to see any of the doctors I need when I was needing to see them. I hope that I am the only one that will deal with this, as this is not fair to or the right way to treat patients in the medical field. Dr.Demori - Thank you for the great care you provided me. I will miss working with you! Unfortunately due to the treatment I have continued to receive from the office, it has forced me to search for a new PCP. You will always be one of my favorite PCP's that I have worked with and I wish I could of stayed with you.
