I was a little concerned when I first read the reviews online and I was called to book an appointment but my experience was quite pleasant. My eye exam was done thoroughly by the assistant and Dr. Dollen. I didn't have to wait too long and everything went smoothly, everyone was kind and sweet. I would say, when I was called in mid-Oct, the earliest appointment was in Nov-end in Durham location. The Cary location was more convenient for me but there weren't appointments available that could fit my schedule so that was a problem but overall, the in person experience was quite good.

Had lasik surgery with Dr Perry about 20 years ago. Since my eyes were very nearsighted at -6.75, I needed a second "touch up" procedure to get me to vision glasses free vision. It's been so great not having to wear coke bottle glasses and being able to swim and see at the same time. I recall getting good care from their team. My eyes are still in good health. At 60, I do need reading glasses and computer glasses. But I'm glad I did it and enjoyed mostly glasses free life for many years. If you are thinking of lasik, get it as a young adult, so you have time to enjoy it before the reading glasses age hits!

Rude. I tried booking a appt and lady was not helpful at all. no appointments were available for next 2 weeks and when i asked - what are our other options - her response was - its basically your problem - go deal with it. nice response. ! Not helpful - especially when someone needs help or guidance.

Wait time was over an hour. Arrived at 8:30 for check in like I was told for a 8:45 appointment didn’t see anyone to start any test until about 10am and finally saw the Dr about 10:45. The staff and Dr.Simon were nice and apologetic for the wait time. 3 stars reflects the long wait time but the Dr and his staff were good.

Without glasses, I was legally blind. The cataracts were so bad I saw double in each eye. I drove using sonar. I would turn when I herd screaming. Dr. Meda, my regular eye Dr., Referred me to Dr. Alexander Barsam at NCEENT for cataract surgery. I opted to go from being near-sighted to being far-sighted (My insurance only covered a simple lens) since I figured there was more world to see beyond my arms length then within my arms length. Well, two months and the competent and professional staff left we with 20/20 vision - I never had 20/20 vision, and clear ... the whole world looks like a new and shiny place. Sight is a wonderful thing and I think Dr. Barsam and the staff at NCEENT for making it happen.
