I highly recommend Dr Cohen. He is very thorough, and explains things in a way that is easy to understand. He also does not push surgery, which is rare for a surgeon. I am very grateful to have found him!
I am so happy I chose Duke for my hearing aids! Dr. Toth was wonderful to work with, and I'm thrilled to be able to hear well again!
I purchased hearing aids and had a one year check at which they charge $60. A week later my right hearing aid stopped charging. I spoke with a tech who told me to come in for an appointment and charged me another $60 for something she could have helped me with over the phone. I sent an email to them, and was contacted by quality assurance reviewer who gave me a "Good Will" refund and thanked me for the feedback. I appreciated it.
I was looking up the directions for an appointment today and saw the rating and was bewildered. Our son had continuous ear infections until we were referred to Dr. Cheng. After the consult, he got us in for ear tube insertion very quickly (after making me feel much better about how the procedure would go). There have been no ear infections since (over a year). Dr. Cheng responds to MyChart messages quickly and explains things clearly. I can’t imagine giving anything other than five stars.
I wish I could give ZERO star if there was an option. I received their service on August 23 due to my hoarse voice problem recently. It was a refer from Raleigh ENT. During the entire visit, Dr. Alissa Collins and another consultant received me. The entire visit included some basic behavior survey and a laryngoscope diagnostic. After less than 3 weeks, I received a bill total of $1520 (scope - $733; Behavior and Quality Analysis-$349 and Office Consultation - $438). Since I am in high-deductible insurance plan this year, I was asked to pay $1119.59 from my pocket. OMG!!! During the entire service, nobody ever mentioned to me even a single word about my financial responsibility. More ironically, after the visit, Dr. Collins recommended a more aggressive diagnostic procedure for follow-up. She claimed that she was concerned about a small pink area but without providing any reasonable rationale behind. If not because I insisted to speak to a financial consultant, I would never find out that recommended DIAGNOSIS procedure would cost me over $3000 from my own pocket. Even more ironically, after the service, I received different calls from their nurse assistant and admin, the one same reason for their calling was trying to push me to make my next appointment for that over $3000 recommended service. BTW, I did ask Dr Collins for any alternative cheaper and more conservative option, but she said no. And also I provided my insurance card at the time when I checked in. So they should easily know how much of their service cost and how much I would have to pay for any service they performed or recommended - if they want to!! Would never go back there again.
