I wouldn’t take my dead dog here. A family member was taken into the ER due to a blood clot moving into his heart. The doctors were rude and just kept saying he was not in any danger. He was sweating so much he soaked the entire bed and the doctors did nothing. The doctor rolled their eyes when I refused to have him transferred to another Penn Highlands Facility and kept fighting saying it “was closer”. The only good person there was a nurse who had a heart of gold and helped keep my family comfortable. For having a blood clot at the heart, the ECG and Respiration on the monitor were not working and they couldn’t figure it out so they left it. Stated he was in no danger and they were looking for ambulance transport then come in minutes later saying the life flight would be there in 24 minutes. No warning or any explanation as to why it was suddenly life flight. No good bedside manners from staff. They hate when you advocate for family and loved ones that are the patients. Barely any good staff left in that facility.
Waited 2 hours in the ER just to be told there are no rooms available and they would have no idea when they could see actually see us. Would give 0 stars is possible, literally the worst hospital around. Go anywhere else
I was scheduled for a 2nd mammogram screening do to an "odd mark" on my test. Something like this leaves u worried until the next results. After pre-registering, and waiting all week; when I arrived for my imaging, the woman at registration informed me of a $200+ detectable before they would give me a diagnostic mammogram. Well with no warning of this payment and a week of worrying, I left in tears. Should they not tell you when making the appointment or at least when registering that there will be a deductable???? Very upset that this was thrown in my lap at the time of my appointment. Is this normal practice?????
I found myself here with an extreme emergency recently. It ended up in a hospitalization that lasted more than a week, at the DuBois sister facility, since the specialty services I needed were available there. I ended up spending an entire day in an ER bay until I could be transferred to the DuBois location. During my stay, I received premium treatment and quality care. I was really impressed with the level of service, the professionalism, the attention to detail, and the respectful care.
Horrible, my father arrived by ambulance and they wouldn't allow me in ER when I arrived. Did get in and 4 hours later saw Dr. who told me his hip and knee X-Rays were fine at which point I told him that was nice the injury was his ankle. Took another hour before he was even offered anything for pain and his oxygen sensor was going off for 10 minutes so I just took it off to shut it up and for an hour no nurse came in to see why it wasn't registering. They finally got his X-Ray and diagnosed a sprained angle and discharged never wrapped it, never asked about pain or anything - all in all a horrible 8 hours. While the ER has been nothing but horrible experiences I did take him for a Nuclear Stress test and the nurses and techs could not have been better - well informed, friendly and helpful which is why I settled on 3 stars (5 for radiology / 1 for ER)
