Went the ER 3x with life threatening issues this year. The ER staff quickly made the diagnosis each time. Treatment was immediate and successful. The nurses on the floor were absolutely wonderful. Room and BR were clean. Food was good except for the scrambled eggs. I'll continue to use MVH for my hospital. Thank you MVH staff, doctors and nurses for your dedication and making the Hospital an amazing asset to our community.

Went for imaging (not my selected facility). It’s two days shy of three weeks and no one has even looked at my imaging yet. The first time I asked (2 weeks after the test), I was told it wasn’t ordered stat. I wasn’t aware stat meant “within 2 weeks.” Now I call and get transferred from dept to dept until they quit answering the phone without an explanation. After hours of no one calling me back, I called again and explained my frustration. I was told “Oh, this shouldn’t have happened. The imaging secretary will look into it.” And hung up on…no other explanation, not told if I would be called back, nothing. HORRIBLE SERVICE. And no one did call me back. Still no results. And might I add, I had to pay up front $250. So they got paid and I will probably never see any results

My husband was in A-Fib. The Emergency department was excellent, they left no stone unturned. He was admitted to 6 East. He had a private room with a recliner chair for me. Nurses Brittany and Taylor were attentive and kind. Dietary was awesome. Dr. Weimer in ED and Dr. Wahba on 6 were so thorough and their bedside manner was excellent. We were informed throughout the process and everyone was very caring and responsive to questions we had. His room was very clean and they made sure he and I were comfortable. We were both scared and unsure. The care team made us feel so much better.

My experience all 2 times at this hospital were horrendous. The first experience, my 79 year old grandmother, who has alzheimers 6 years prior to this visit, was basically killed here. She fell and had hit her head on the table. Nothing major, just fell. We called the ambulance and they took her to Penn Highlands. Not only did she get 'killed' here, but she was neglected. She had not been fed the whole 5 days she was there. When I went to see her in the ER, I could not find her doctor anywhere. She was not cleaned up at all there was dried blood all through her hair. She was fine that Monday night and then on Tuesday morning she was unnecessarily drugged. The nurses said she was 'a lot to handle' that night. She could not move, open her eyes, or nothing. This is because they drugged her to death. I tried to tickle her because she was insanely ticklish and not even a muscle twitched. The nurse came to draw blood and same thing, no muscle movement, nothing. She unfortunately had passed away the next morning. The second time I'd gone here was for my X ray for scoliosis. We had waited 1 hour and 30 minutes for the x ray. We still hadn't gone back. And an old man respectfully and kindly asked for water and the staff got really nasty toward him and basically thrown the water at him. I never got the x ray. Do not go to this place

I had the best care here. I went in the ER on September 21st 2024. I was admitted and had my testing. Scheduled surgery for October 21st. Dr Senders did my surgery. He was amazing! The whole staff at Mon Valley were amazing. Right down to the dietary staff.
