I have been a patient for several years. When have an appointment to see an actual human it’s all good, I’m happy with the visit. However, when I call no one ever answers, it’s always a recording. Recently I have called 4 times, left the required info but I have not received a returned call!!! That’s the issue with is place it seems to be poorly managed. The last time I actual had to go to the office unannounced and get answers because they NEVER return calls!!
Not worth the time going here. I been a patient here 3 different times over last 10+ years and it is nothing but a joke. No doctor in the office takes their patients seriously. Most of the providers I saw never seemed to care when a patient went to the ER. I have had doctor's from here dismiss me and ignore me while having problems. Worst part is getting an appointment if you need an urgent appointment you have to wait 5 months for one. Do not go her if you can help it.
I have never had to see a pulmonary provider until now. It is a clearance I need for a upcoming surgery. I saw Dr Viramgama who was nice. The staff is the problem. I was told on my visit on 4/1 that everything was great and they would be faxing over my clearance to my surgeon. My surgeons office stated they never received it. I called them again ( UPMC pulmonary) on 4/12, 4/15 and 4/26. Each time the staff assured me they would fax over my records. Today I was told that I can not be scheduled in a timely manor for my surgery because they have still not received my records. I called again 5 times now I have been told they would handle it. I demanded to speak to a supervisor who told me she would fax it herself and she apologizes saying there are no records of it being faxed or even a number in the chart. Even tho the provider was very friendly I would not recommend UPMC Pulmonary to anyone due to the lack of attention the staff gives. When you call you are placed on hold over and over again. The staff will assure you that it will be taken care of and it is not. They called me several times to tell me the provider had a earlier opening and I said over and over I could not make that date work, they still had 3 different office staff members calling. They want to fill their schedule and book a appointment but then you are left high and dry. I also want to mention I had several PFT’s done on 3/19 and I had to call several times to get the results. They were not transcribed by a provider until 3/26.
Unbelievable!!!!!! First I'm told all my test came back negative for everything they checked me for including sleep apnea. Less then 24 hours later, I get a call from this office; I have Hypoxia; extremely serious condition. I message back & forth, as if we're playing a game! Ridiculous!!!!! Then the doctor says he doesn't deal with sleep apnea, I'll have to see another doctor in the practice. I wait more then a week. Ask around for some references since no ones contacting me. I call the same office as Dr. Memon, they won't make me an appointment until Dr. Memon writes a referral. I did tell them I'm looking to leave him because he doesn't seem to care about my health so I'm trying to get an appointment with another doctor in the same practice. The office manager has the audacity to say "We'll be happy to forward you chart when you find your new doctor!" WARNING TO ALL PULMONARY PATIENTS...stay away...STAY VERY FAR AWAY! The fact that this office would play with a patients health on a whim is extremely disconcerting! If I had the strength, I swear I'd contact an attorney. This is an excellent example of where our healthcare is going wrong!
I have been going to this practice for about ten years. The physicians I have seen are excellent, the staff is caring and compassionate. When I've been very sick, they've been there to help me get an appointment as soon as they can. Can't recommend them enough!
