I would sincerely give this doctor's office zero stars if it would allow me to. I made an appointment for visit on September 9th 2025. The appointment date they gave me was September 30, 2025. While still on the phone with the receptionist, I not only wrote the time and date on a notepad I keep on my desk at all times, but I also added it into my phone so I could have it remind me a day before. The day of the appointment, I took off of work, borrowed a car as mine was in the shop, and drove to the appointment. Not only did I wait for 20 minutes in line to check in, but when it was finally my turn, I was told I didn't have an appointment for today. They said it was October 13. I told them that was impossible because not only did I put it in my phone, but I am on vacation that week and would not have m Ade an appointment for that week. I basically got an "Oh well," and was sent on my way. Never, EVER, will I deal with a UPMC office again. They certainly seem to be having issues lately.....
Absolutely the worst experience ever. After waiting MONTHS for an appointment for my father to be seen by a neurologist here who suffers from extreme Alzheimers and dementia, we walk in only to be told we don't have an appointment. Why? Because evidently they called my elderly, dementia father who told them he doesn't remember the appointment and cancelled it. WHO CALLS A DEMENTIA PATIENT AND ALLOWS THEM TO CANCEL AN APPOINTMENT?! Especially when there was specific contact information given for his caretaker when making the appointment. His partner broke down at this place crying because of this. Completely embarrassing. The desk person had ZERO sympathy, even went as far as to say she doesn't like the attitude presented, and we should re-schedule another appointment 4 months out. Talk about reading the room - absolutely despicable and disgusting customer attentiveness. Again, what neurologist calls a dementia patient directly and allows them to cancel an appointment that they KNOW was made months and months in advance? Common sense anyone? Evidently not here. Update: Contacted them at the number provided in their reply, spoke to a nice lady who said this absolutely should not have happened, is not procedure, and would look into getting us back in quicker than a few months. Said she would talk to leadership at the location. Never heard back. Obvious they don't care unfortunately, which is sad for a place like this where sensitivity and patient caring should be somewhat of a priority.
I can't get to anyone on the phone. I leave voicemails and no one ever calls me back to schedule my new patient appointment. Last VM was 5/7 and it's now the 21st - zero response.
