I thought sleep apnea was a bunch of bunk but my primary doc talked me into getting a sleep test. Turns out a had a pretty bad case of sleep apnea. This was 7 years ago when I got my first cpap. Now fast forward to 2025. Things changed and I started having 65-75 apneas per hour. I did the sleep study again and It turned out I’d developed central sleep apnea and needed an ASV machine. My insurance approved it and I’m delighted I went through the study again. I now sleep 8-9 hours and have on average less than 1 event per hour. I think the most I’ve had was 1.5 per hour and that’s probably twice in 5 months. Excellent job Blount!
If you care about your health and need help with sleep, go elsewhere, anywhere! I scheduled to see a Dr and I was handed off to Brandon McLin. Still not sure of his role and why I ended up seeing him. instead of the doctor. 5 days later, 5 calls later and still the prescription he said I needed was never called in to the pharmacy. FIVE DAYS- 5 CALLS and nothing. Then the main office had the gaul to call and ask if I got what I needed. Needless to say I have fired them due to lack of professional care and care in general. This office is a disaster. Way to go Prisma, welcome to the community, you can leave now.
I am disabled so I was very nervous, especially since I forgot my rollator and only had my wheelchair. But Mike who was my sleep study specialist saw that I needed a rollator to get around the room. He had one in storage and was kind enough to ask his wife to bring it for me to use. That was above and beyond and I appreciated that more than he knows. I thanked him several times. Mike also explained what he was doing as he was hooking up the electrodes to monitor my sleep. He made the whole experience so much easier. I would not hesitate to recommend this sleep center to anyone.
My husband has been a patient here for years. His cpap machine broke and I made an appt with CLAUDIA GAMMON, who was the only one available, because I am having to sit up with him to jolt him awake when he stops breathing. He stops breathing all night and his chest actually pops when he starts breathing again. Its dangerous. The nurse called back there because the office never sent the paperwork to update his chart cause its been a few years and CLAUDIA told her that she was refusing to see him. He drove 45 mins and took off work to be there. The receptionist told CLAUDIA GAMMON that there was an appointment today at 130 avaliable (his appt was at 1 and he was on time) and the receptionist said she could put him down for 130 and GAMMON said NO! They said for him to go home and fill it out. This has to be negligence. We are looking for another sleep center to get him into before something happens to him. After reading reviews and talking to others about GAMMON, this happens all the time with the paperwork. This office has never been very good. We have always had issues with the organization, bedside manner, and appointments, but this one was important. I am planning on contacting the medical board. My husband was fortunate enough to get a recording of the interaction where you can hear the receptionist trying to work him in and them refusing him for their mistake.
Was referred by my primary care physician. Went to my appointment and the doctor wanted to do sleep study. Well insurance being insurance wanted to do an at home study. Did the at home study and was never contacted for 3 weeks. I work 12 hr swing shift so I get sleep whenever I can. The nurse repeatedly called me 5 times in a row while I was asleep on night shift just to let me know that the doctor wants another sleep study done, and that they would call me In 2 weeks to schedule. Now I don’t understand why she couldn’t have left a voicemail but apparently that’s hard to do. I returned her phone call and they put a request back into the insurance for another study. Well insurance denied it because we have already done one. I called the insurance and they wanted to do a peer to peer phone call with the doctor. The insurance called the sleep doctor office multiple times as well did I go get this matter addressed and the second study could happen. Neither I nor the insurance was ever contacted again and that was a month ago. Pretty bad service for me will not be going back and will not be paying them a dime.
